Excellent service. Their prices maybe are not the cheapest in town but well worth the quality service we recieved. On time, friendly, professional. The movers knew what they were doing when dissasembling the furniture and putting it back together. Very happy that made our choice in favor of Personal Movers.

Exceeded our expectations. Almost a month has passed, since I moved from Edmonton to Calgary on very short notice. The buyer for my condo wanted possession in 3 short weeks. Fortunately, my daughter had heard about your company and made arrangements for you to handle my move. When my architect husband was alive, he would take charge of any moves we made, and I would only have to help with all the packing preparations. However, this time I was alone, with only my Calgary based daughter to help me, and I had under estimated the number of hours that would be required to get my things out of my condo. (Not only was it a long walk from my suite to the elevator lobby, but there was an equally long walk across the outside elevated courtyard to the loading area.) Consequently, your staff, had considerably more work and walking to do than was planned for. However, they treated me with respect, realizing that I was just inexperienced and then very competently and efficiently worked through the many challenges that they faced with this move. Would you please thank your team for their excellent work and for the support they gave me with this very difficult move?

I have moved several times and used different moving companies, and this was by far my worst moving experience ever. Summary They were extremely slow. Of the three individuals, the one who seemed to be more of a lead role was often rude. Not just when he stormed out but made several condensing remarks about having Ikea furniture prior to that. There was a large loft bed with a desk that was not put together – I should have been informed prior to them taking it apart and moving it of any concerns as I listed it as an item that would need to be taken apart and put back together in my booking inquiry. Not all items were removed from prior residence They did not have proper tools to disassemble furniture, increasing time My house is a mess as I told them to just dump most items in the living room as I was so frustrated. We are having to assemble the furniture they took apart The lunch break was started at 2:30 – I was texting my daughter at the time they left so I know the time. I called them at 3:30 as they were still not at the new location (distance is 10 minutes). When I questioned the length of that at billing, they said it way 2:45 plus travel. It’s not a large difference, but that was a lie. Also to note that when I sent a message to info about a move, I had a response within minutes. I did send this response to them before posting the review, and did not receive a reply.

Interaction with the office team to set up the move was a breeze. On the day of the move, Imran and Hussein arrived 15 minutes before the appointment time. They were very punctual, fast, professional and friendly. They made sure all items in the move were safely transported to my new residence. Highly satisfied with the service they provided. They are a credit to Calgary Personal Movers. Will definitely recommend to others and will use again.

Summary: My experience with Personal Movers is that they were unprofessional, disorganized, unprepared movers who mistreated my belongings with a total lack of care. They were rude, aggressive, and had poor personal hygiene. Context: I was quoted a 3-hour job ($130/hr + $130 for dispatch = $520). The time it took them to move a one bedroom apartment 8 mins down the road was six and a half hours for a total of $955. (When I last moved with the exact same furnishings and items, it took my movers 1 hr 15 mins to load, and 1 hr to unload) (1) Sadly, my building lost the key to the elevator and it could not be put in service. However, the bldg deactivated the function that forces the elevator to close, and I let the guys know they could simply place an item to hold the elevator open. The bldg had let all other tenants know the elevator was in use. (2) Personal Movers sent a 14 ft tall, massive truck to move one one bedroom unit. Because of the size of this truck, they were not able to pull into the loading dock within the garage of our destination. Instead, they were allowed to park at the entrance of the garage. This essentially meant my items had to be walked roughly 20ft through the garage for which I lent them a flatbed dolly to use. Personal Movers blames the above interference for the length of time this move took. In reality, they sent two young boys who were unprepared with no equipment whatsoever. Rather than loading dollies and taking them out with ease, they were physically lifting box-by-box, one by one, item by item. They moved very slowly, were taking breaks to laugh and chat, did not move at a professional pace whatsoever. When we arrived at the destination for my move I gave them a flatbed dolly to use, and sent a note to head office asking if this was normal practice (to be carrying box by box like this). Alfred from their office line told me that he called the boys who told them they had a dolly and had used it; when I explained the only dolly they has was the one I provided and that no dolly was used at the pickup location he became aggressive with me telling me I was lying. I had to eventually say "I am a single woman doing this all alone and I am not comfortable with men in my home who are being aggressive with me, so lets just get this job done and call it a day". When I went downstairs to check on how things were going, I noticed my mattress had not been wrapped, although the frame of my couch had been wrapped the couch cushions had not and were on the floor of the garage dirty, my TV stand was being dragged along the floor of the garage and getting scratched. When I came back upstairs I noticed one of them had used one of my books as a door stop and the pages/cover of my book were ruined. Who does that!? All in all: unprofessional, unprepared, hostile workers. Shoes were left on at all times with no covers; at one point one of the boys went to walk into my bedroom with his dirty wet slushy boots on (my bedroom has cream carpet!). I had to abruptly stop him explaining "you cannot walk on that carpet with those boots on" to which he asked "so what do I do then?". After explaining he would need to remove his shoes (which he should have done on his own accord) he did - it took me hours after they left to get the smell of dirty feet out of my apartment. All of this to say: book someone else! I recently moved to Alberta from Ontario and during this move the movers were prompt, efficient and well prepared. Every item was properly wrapped and cared for, they brought runways to place down to protect my floors and moved steadily with dollies moving larger loads at a time. It cost me $1800 to move across the country, meanwhile this was nearly $1000 to move 10 mins away. This was the equivalent of robbery - they even showed up a half hour late and I later realized I was charged for this time. They stole from me (mere days before Christmas - I moved December 20th), and I wish I had booked anyone else for this job.

Pros: Dealing with office staff, sales personal, and the person confirming the booking were all very courteous, thorough informative and responsive. Just what one would expect with any service company. Cons: The actual service. Understanding I was being billed by the hour before the service had started, I had an expectation of the time it would take to complete the job. The job consisted of going to a store facility, parking within a couple feet of a 20x20 storage locker, loading on a commercial truck, delivering it less than 4 km away to a recently purchased bungalow main floor. I am a mature person, with experience running crews. I had 3 friends with me at the new residence, also all senior people who have worked supervising crews. Everyone was astonished the job took as long as it did, pretty much twice the expected time. As comparison, when the furniture was originally loaded into the storage unit, I utilized a couple young kids of friends, (not experienced movers) and though multiple trips (similar distance) with only 1/2 ton pick ups, moved the same items in less time. So time is money, and my opinion is they took too much time, and cost me too much money. Next. I am out of hip surgery, limited mobility, and did not think it was necessary to follow their every move. So after the movers left, I discovered a spare tire and rim from storage, was placed in my living room, my fault for not expressing spare tires should be in a garage. Then, all the large bedroom furniture, which I asked to be put in the master bedroom, and did not need to be set up, was put in the bedroom, but helter skelter in the middle of the room. Impossible for me to move through the room on my crutches. The most annoying thing was a broken mirror. The mover admitted breaking the mirror, and being an inexpensive mirror, it was not a concern to me, and I told the mover not to worry about it. It was the next day, in daylight, I discovered broken mirror and glass all over the front street for cars, kids and pets to pass through. No attempt to clean up the glass on the road. Over all, I would not use Personal Movers again or recommend them to others.

Great experience! The movers were fantastic to work with, I would recommend. Personal Movers made the moving process less stressful then I had thought it would be. We found out on the day of the move that the truck had to park down the street from actual move location no fault of the movers, just procedure of the condo I was moving from. Which was upsetting to me and I felt so bad, but the movers handled it well and did not complain with the distance to which they had to carry. Very thankful and appreciate all they did!

Reuben and Dante were amazing, polite, friendly, professional and very efficient. The move was stress free and done in a timely manner. They ensured all my belongings were safely secured and helped setting up the parts of the apartment I asked them to. Great service! Will definitely use them again and recommend to anyone I know moving.
