Personal Movers - Calgary

Personal Movers loaded and unloaded house contents into two different storage containers over four different days. The movers arrived promptly, worked hard, were courteous and friendly, and did a fantastic job of wrapping furniture and loading contents into containers. The items were secured well and no damage occurred while being transported. (The container tips at a 30 degree angle while being placed onto/from the truck bed so making sure items were secured was important). One of the homes had 5 levels and hardwood stairs so extra care and attention was needed to avoid damaging the stairs and walls. There was no damage. From a customer service perspective, all my requests, questions, and concerns were addressed promptly and courteously. The reminder email to confirm the appointments were very helpful. I highly recommend Personal Movers.

Imran and Dante were friendly, professional, and super efficient. They made the moving process so easy for me. This is the second time I've used Personal Movers and will be choosing them again the next time I move.

Pros: Dealing with office staff, sales personal, and the person confirming the booking were all very courteous, thorough informative and responsive. Just what one would expect with any service company. Cons: The actual service. Understanding I was being billed by the hour before the service had started, I had an expectation of the time it would take to complete the job. The job consisted of going to a store facility, parking within a couple feet of a 20x20 storage locker, loading on a commercial truck, delivering it less than 4 km away to a recently purchased bungalow main floor. I am a mature person, with experience running crews. I had 3 friends with me at the new residence, also all senior people who have worked supervising crews. Everyone was astonished the job took as long as it did, pretty much twice the expected time. As comparison, when the furniture was originally loaded into the storage unit, I utilized a couple young kids of friends, (not experienced movers) and though multiple trips (similar distance) with only 1/2 ton pick ups, moved the same items in less time. So time is money, and my opinion is they took too much time, and cost me too much money. Next. I am out of hip surgery, limited mobility, and did not think it was necessary to follow their every move. So after the movers left, I discovered a spare tire and rim from storage, was placed in my living room, my fault for not expressing spare tires should be in a garage. Then, all the large bedroom furniture, which I asked to be put in the master bedroom, and did not need to be set up, was put in the bedroom, but helter skelter in the middle of the room. Impossible for me to move through the room on my crutches. The most annoying thing was a broken mirror. The mover admitted breaking the mirror, and being an inexpensive mirror, it was not a concern to me, and I told the mover not to worry about it. It was the next day, in daylight, I discovered broken mirror and glass all over the front street for cars, kids and pets to pass through. No attempt to clean up the glass on the road. Over all, I would not use Personal Movers again or recommend them to others. Check all other reviews, I see other complaints of taking too long to increase charges.

We were happy with the way they handled our belongings (except for reading this side up labels). Otherwise the booking, etc was excellent. The move itself was fairly slow due to the extra wrapping they did of our belongings. Very friendly and easy to talk to and were genuinely concerned where things went.

The team I had the pleasure of working with, Imran, Moe and Abi, were absolutely great. They never stopped "moving" pun intended. I had a lot of items in my home, but they tackled it with ease and simplicity which impressed me. The office staff to were very responsive and very easy to communicate with and update my moving details. High recommend this company!

Reuben and Dante were amazing, polite, friendly, professional and very efficient. The move was stress free and done in a timely manner. They ensured all my belongings were safely secured and helped setting up the parts of the apartment I asked them to. Great service! Will definitely use them again and recommend to anyone I know moving.

Great experience! The movers were fantastic to work with, I would recommend. Personal Movers made the moving process less stressful then I had thought it would be. We found out on the day of the move that the truck had to park down the street from actual move location no fault of the movers, just procedure of the condo I was moving from. Which was upsetting to me and I felt so bad, but the movers handled it well and did not complain with the distance to which they had to carry. Very thankful and appreciate all they did! Thank you.

Seamless. From the initial conversation around dates and confirming our booking through to the finality of our move, excellent. Every piece of furniture wrapped in pads and taped. Sofa, stretch wrapped. Superior attention to detail. We “downsized” from a two storey to another location with two sets of stairs. At no point did the crew utter a voice of discontent choosing instead to be helpful and interactive. A very long day for all involved and through to the end the team remained amazing. Management called when the job was completed to ensure our satisfaction and enquire regarding one or two rare antiques. Highly recommend this firm and their professionalism. We could have found “cheaper” but in the end, the truth is you get what you pay for.
