Our History
Since 1985, Cedars Deli has been an integral member of the Calgary's cultural palate. Since the beginning, we have been a family business with a focus on family values and healthy eating, which is reflected in our genuinely friendly welcome to anyone who walks through the doors of Cedars Deli.
Often imitated but never duplicated, Cedars Deli brings the savory and health-wise food of the Mediterranean to Calgary, Alberta. We have multiple locations and we're looking forward to continue expanding throughout the city.

Cedars Deli stands apart from the rest with our offering of 10 different sauces and 10 different veggies to add to any chicken, beef, falafel (or any combination of the 3) sandwiches or plates. We use authentic imported foods from the Mediterranean which gives us a flavor that stands above the rest.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place probably has the best taboulli in town, and there are already some PRETTY DANG GOOD taboulli elsewhere. In my top 5 places in the city for sure! The best shawarma on Macloed! Would go, have gone, will go again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to try after hearing that it was a nice place to have lunch nearby! Service was good and fast too, but the chicken in my shawarma was so tough it must have been cooked days before I ordered it.
Friend had ordered the beef donair and I tried a bit and it was much better and tasted a bit more fresh.
For their prices I’d expect it to be fresh chicken used.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So impressed with the food here. My boss ordered food from here for us one day and the portions were HUGE. Cedars did not cheap out on the meat or the ingredients. I got the chicken platter and it lasted me 2 meals.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The donairs here are so flavorful. Garlic sauce is delicious. Try the garlic potato wedges. The staff were fun to be around and served up food with positive energy.
Only part I was not a fan of was the pita bread. Felt like it just gave in as you bit instead of having some chewiness I think of with a pita.

Do not let the girl that works there make your wrap, she does not give you the proper amount of meat or veggies or anything for your money.This is the second time she has done this to me. Not worth it at all, i paid $12 for a regular with the amount of meat that's on a small. It was pathetic. Such a rip off and id advise if you go, refuse to let her make your wrap. Worst service from her, the filipino guy does a great job and is the reason I come back as he does a proper job. So head's up to whoever the owner is.... your losing customer's because of her.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was my first time trying out Lebanese food. The gentleman working there was super friendly and patient with me ordering the food.
I got the Chicken Shawarma wrap, the taste was acceptable depending on what sauce you choose, but the food didn't look as fresh.
Overall, the location is renovated and clean, making my dine in experience quite enjoyable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been coming to this Cedars Deli for the past three months almost every day for lunch, it’s that good. I decided to check the reviews and to my surprise, there were a few negative ones.
To those that are saying it’s not “true” Mediterranean food, are you blind? Their saying is literally, “A taste of the Mediterranean.” Every single culture's food has been Americanized to be able to sell to picky eaters. Do you think Chinese food in Canada is the same in China? Not at all. YOU pick the toppings and sauce yourself, so you have no excuse to complain about certain things not being authentic.
“They’re rude”. Could it be because they’re understaffed and having to deal with rude Uber drivers barking at them? Or could it be that you complain about the sauce that’s on it… that you asked for? These guys are hard workers and have to deal with a lot, be kind and in return, they’ll treat you with respect.
Sorry for the rant but these guys don’t deserve the hate. Great food and awesome service! Highly recommend the beef donair.
