Food is tasty, but eat quickly! Or else the rice will be burnt as the hot plate is... very hot. Really liking the high ceiling interior that they have; looks very spacious and airy! The down part is that there's only paid parking around, and it's hard to find a spot during peak times.

Comfort food, steaming hot from the first bite to the last. I never expected to see a fast food menu with Wago stead, Kobe burger and beef tenderloin. What a great idea. It took us a long time before we were willing to this place because it is classified as fast food in Google Maps. After tasting the food though, we now consider this as home cooking – comfort food. We ordered Kobe Burgers with an egg, and chicken gyoza. The burgers are a decent size, larger and thicker than other burgers outlets. The dish arrived on a really hot iron platter. The burger was still pink in the middle. We were given instructions to flip the burger so that the other side can be cooked as well. It was not that hard to flip once we got used to the little pair of tongs. Because of the hot iron platter, with every bite, the meat is so hot I burned my tong with the first few bites. With any food, I get used to the routine that by the third and forth bite, the food is no longer tongue-burning. Not the case here. It is hot till the last bite. The rice was quality short grain Japanese rice perfectly cooked, steaming hot, just the right texture. The dipping sauces were good (I didn’t try the garlic one). This is the first time our bill at a fast food place came to $39.85 before tips. Although it is not cheap, considering the quality, it is good value. We think that it is worth it because the ingredients are real, the food is freshly made, and the execution great. I didn’t give it five stars because they are very skinny in the vegetable department. The peas and carrots I had tasted either like the steamed to death cafeteria variety or frozen. We thought it a great concept and plan to make this our regular food outlet.

Great place to grab a bite to eat! Service is very friendly and efficient. Food is simple but has a nice concept of it coming out on a hot plate for you to cook yourself. Be warned that it can get very busy during the lunch hours due to the many businesses around. Convenient location as it’s situated right next to the two Canada Line station. Highly recommended!

They were out of white rice. They told us it would be 15 minutes before they would have it. We said sure. Then they came back and told us, no its just brown rice. This was a lot of the experience when it came with dealing with the staff for our order. The food itself was fine. We got the wagyu with an egg added. It was tender meat, but I've had flat iron sliced in a certain direction thinly cut that was equally good and tender. Would I eat there again? Sure. I liked that it was served hot on a sizzling plate. It wasn't cheap, but wagyu generally isn't.

I've been missing this resto and I'm glad they have it here on BC. Staff was very friendly and food was excellent as always. If you haven't tried this place, I highly recommend this place. Place to gain weight.

Ordered a steak β€œmeal” cost $21 with tax. Honestly, grossly overpaid for a pile of cheap bean sprouts, spoonful of boiled carrot and beans and some unseasoned beef. It arrived on a sizzling plate. The novelty quickly wore away because my beef was raw on arrival, so I couldn’t start eating for some time. I like my meat quite rare but it was cold. So I waited for it to cook on the β€œgrill” after which it became a soggy grey mess sitting in the juice of the boiled down bean sprouts. The sauce they provided had no taste. Honestly it felt like prison or hospital food where they serve you boiled, bland food. Even the rice was sticky and over cooked, grains were stuck together in starchy gloop. I don’t know what other customers are raving about but this place doesn’t do it for me AT ALL - no flavour, no value, fast food service. Don’t bother.

I tried Pepper Lunch last week, and felt it was very overpriced. I spent almost $20 for steak, rice and corn. The portion was quite small and left me hungry still. The taste was good, but nothing special. I won’t be returning or recommending.
