Edit: visited today and was shocked! My order of the beef bowl was fine except for one critical thing: it wasn't beef - it was pork. While I have no dietary restrictions switching a major ingredient like that is absolutely not acceptable. If you're out of beef fine, tell the customer but swapping on a to-go order IS NOT OK. Original review: New and reasonably priced spot along Broadway. The kimchi bowl was excellent! The space itself is well laid out and the service was quick and very friendly and welcoming. They do a great take away too if your in a rush for lunch!

Nice place with well priced dishes. Suitable for lunch or light dinner. Ordered a rice dish and it was tasty, though would have preferred more pork on it.

Brand new place. The teriyaki chicken bowl is delicious! Not sure what they do to the chicken, it’s not fried or bbq... but so juicy and delicious. Not greasy at all. Highly recommend it :)

Gave this place a try because of the high reviews and was really disappointed. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl and while it was good and tasty enough it was far from being great and the portion was so small. No wonder they kept trying to upsell me with a combo or extra egg as most people would need that to fill them up! I think there's much better food options nearby and I probably won't be back.

It's good to see a place that does something slightly different. There are a TON of places around town that specialize in ramen, sushi, and poke, but this is the first one I've been to that's focussed on Donburi. They have a short and sweet menu, with only one vegetarian option as of now, but one of the waitresses told me that they were planning to add more options to their menu soon. I got their vegetarian curry rice bowl which was delicious, and a signature tea which was really refreshing! Highly recommend checking this place out!

This restaurant took over from Chef's Harvest a few months ago, and it's a welcome change (I thought chef's harvest was a bit too expensive, personally). The price point here is pretty decent. The bowls are $8-10, and you can add a side green salad and miso soup/pop for an additional $3.50. I like how the green salad is already mixed with the dressing (I'm lazy and I also don't like having greens escape the serving dish when I'm attempting to mix the dressing in). The miso soup is fine. I tried the gomaae and while the dressing was good, the spinach was a weird almost creamed texture which I didn't like - I like my spinach to have a bit of a snappy chew to it, not like it's been pre-chewed by someone else. I've tried the signature bowl and the teriyaki chicken bowl so far. The rice in both cases had a nice texture and was fluffy with a good amount of chew to it. The signature pork was good in its own way, the vinaigrette that it was tossed in gave the whole dish a vinegar-y taste, but it wasn't too overwhelming - you could taste the sweetness of the pork. I thought the green onion was a bit excessive though and it could have used more pork. Overall it ate pretty light. I liked the teriyaki chicken bowl much more, it wasn't too sauce-y and felt more savoury and substantial than the signature bowl. I liked the addition of the pickled radish strips. There wasn't a huge amount of green onion on this bowl, but the flavour of it was really pungent (same as the signature bowl but I expected that one to be pretty heavy on the onion - this one not so much).

Ordered teriyaki chicken only, good quality given the price.

I ordered the lunch teriyaki chicken menu that comes with a small salad and miso soup. The salad is just iceberg lettuce, and the soup is just the broth without any solid chunks. The chicken tastes nice as there are charred bits but is very thin. The rice to chicken ratio is def off. Less rice and more chicken and sauce would be def better. I guess the price justifies it.
