Love Papa's Poutinerie. Usually order through skip the dishes and it's so delicious. They pack the gravy separately so you can pour it over and the fries don't get soggy. Lots of cheese and good fries. We always get the small and it's the perfect amount ? highly recommend.

We don't live in Victoria, but stumbled upon this place (actually Sult) on a Sunday nursing a bit of a hangover and all I can say is the Chuck's Wagon Poutine has essentially haunted my dreams since that fateful day. The combination of flavours in that poutine is nothing like I have had before, even when I lived in Montreal and that is the highest compliment I can give them. I have since gone there with my family on vacation and everyone loved it, the food is awesome, the vibe is excellent and staff are super friendly. I can't wait to be back in Victoria and immediately head here before a night out in Victoria to only head back there the day after to eat it all again.

Felt compelled to write a review, so here we go. I love poutine and have had lots over my lifetime. I ordered the Mt Vesuvius which is their meatball poutine. Was thoroughly disappointed. The plate was super small (I ordered the large), the thing barely fit on it so I was unable to mix the poutine without it spilling over the side. Meatballs looked weird, had to order extra sauce since there was not enough gravy. The sauce was super small, not even close to being worth the extra charge. When I got around to actually eating it, it wasnt good. Weird cheese and there was alot of other stuff in there I cant remember. Weird combination, didnt taste good. Maybe I got the wrong poutine, my friends poutine looked alright. The perogies looked good when they were going by. The place was understaffed. The poor servers (who were awesome) were running around, we had to wait a while for stuff. I could see the kitchen staff giving their all and having to yell at each other. I hate when owners do that, it's not fair to the staff and its greedy. In summary, if you are a poutine fanatic, this is not the place to go.

The miso mushroom gravy is too sweet and thin to be a gravy its more like a dressing. Try big wheel burger for vegetarian poutine or sometimes new York fries has some.

Had the Pub Pickle Poutine. Was okay, could've been done a bit better, just seemed really sloppy with how the ingredients were thrown together Hefty portions for just one person, definitely big enough for a single order to be split between two people It was tasty though! I appreciate they kept the gravy separate before it arrived, luckily was still fairly warm so no heating was needed. I also appreciate that they used compostable packaging, very very important to me. At the end of the day, one shouldn't judge a dish necessarily by its presentation, but it could've been presented/prepared a bit better in my opinion.

Get the perogi sampler without looking at the menu and blind taste test them all! Then get a main and you'll be full for the rest of the night

I love poutine and we decided to order from here. The online menu had not been updated and when we tried giving our order the person on the phone was rude about us not using the right names for the items. When we picked up they asked us for our name and when we said they didn't ask for a name they said "oh.. that order." Extremely unprofessional and unwarranted for a problem that was caused by the resturaunt. This alone makes it so I wont be back, Victoria has enough amazing food places to not need to support places that treat costumers like that. As for the poutine, I give them a second star as the sauce and cheese was really good but as other reviews said, the combination was strange (was different than what we ordered as the menu had been changed without updating that anywhere) as well as many of the fries were not fully cooked. Your experience may vary but victoria has muchbetter options.

As far as Poutine goes, this ain't it. The cheese curds were just as long as the french fries and I was constantly battling with them just to enjoy a fork full of fries, gravy and curds. You should NOT need a knife for Poutine. 2 stars because the gravy was okay.
