The place itself feels a bit grungy, but if you have dietary restrictions and are craving waffles, this is the place to go. Barely could tell my waffle was gluten and dairy free. Love their coconut milk whipped cream!

I had such a lovely visit to West Coast Waffles. The waffle that the lovely staff member, I believe her name was Vesper.., was so delicious! The first one is a sunrise waffle which has chorizo sauce on it. Very delicious and filling for breakfast. And the second one was a banana waffle which was just perfect for dessert! Will visit again!

West Coast Waffles is an inexpensive stop for breakfast. The music is nothing too loud and there is a good selection on the menu. It could be cleaner but the price is right. Serving staff are friendly and helpful. The washroom is moderately accessible.

There was one staff member who took our order that just spoiled the whole place. The food was ok, but this staff member made the experience very unpleasant. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, we showed up with a large group right at opening. However, other than our group of 12 , there were about 4 tables ahead of us, so it wasn't that busy. The staff member taking our order at the front was obviously unhappy that so many paying customers were lining up to eat here. It was apparent in the way we were treated that this guy just didn't want to be there. The cook was a lot more pleasant to deal with. Our food didn't take too long, but they were definitely understaffed, which I totally understand. Busy is one thing, but there's no need to be rude to customers and have an attitude towards the people that want to give you their money. At one point when we were sitting waiting for food, another couple came in the door. At this point the place was pretty full, but there were 1 or 2 empty tables. The unhappy staff member bee lined for the door and instead of greeting them pleasantly and explaining that they were a bit busy and there might be a wait, the first words out of his mouth were "its a 2 hour wait"! (throwing up two fingers towards the customer) The customer seemed confused, as there were empty tables, but the staff member repeated once again quite loudly that it would be a 2 hour wait. The couple promptly turned around and went somewhere else, understandably so. I wish I had been so lucky. I just don't understand why these people have jobs in the service industry. Maybe it was just a bad day this guy was having, but in reading through the other reviews here, it seems that this isn't the first time this guy has made a similar impression on a customer. I've been in the service industry over 15 years. Some days suck, but you put a smile on your face and treat people well. I wouldn't go back and I would not be recommending this place. I gave 2 stars because the food wasn't bad, but nothing special, and the cook who doubled as our server was quite pleasant, despite being very busy preparing and serving food. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that good to be able to overlook the service. Try somewhere else. There are many different brunch options downtown.

Ordered the Super Oreo waffle for takeout, the chocolate sauce and whipped cream were in small containers you had to put on an otherwise plain waffle with ice cream on it. Waffle was chewy and no better than something I could have made at home for $12.99. No thanks, for that price I could get something a lot tastier from Wannawafel.

Ordered banana waffle, I said it needs to be vegan, he said no problem. Then I get the $20.00 something waffle, only to realize that it has real dairy whipped cream all over it. When I point that out a vegan waffle can't have real cream, he said, you ordered it that way, and just turned and walked away from our table and he stayed behind counter until we left. What's the point of that, saying it's vegan and then smothering it in dairy... make your customers sick, really. Be careful when you order, even when it's acknowledged vegan. They obviously don't accept the contradiction.

Fast food that’ll cost you $40 for two plates. Waffles are inexpensive and eggs are too, but they taste good. But the food here is more or less random ingredients shotgunned on to a waffle and fed out as quickly as possible. Is it good sure. Is it gourmet? No. Fast food is fast food ??‍♂️
