I asked them for a specific service on the phone. Answer: CAD 80. Once there, everything was extra, to the point of paying CAD 475 for some not-needed services. Unfortunately in Canada many veterinarias abuse customers because many have animal insurance. Same practices were observed in dentists. Hopefully insurance companies and customers reverse these abuses. My recommendation, cross the US border and go to a vet there. Prices are way cheaper.

My cat started showing symptoms of a UTI and my regular vet couldn't see her for another week. OBAH luckily had an appointment available the next day. The staff were friendly, the vet was prompt in diagnosing my cat's issue and getting her on treatment, and I'm very grateful. Huge plus: OBAH has direct billing available for Trupanion, so I was able to have that coverage handled before I even left with my kitty.

I would give zero stars if I could. Vet was unclear with the explanation of our dog's dental surgery. He should have explained the surgery in detail after it was completed on that day. 7 months later the site is healed and I am able to touch it without causing pain to my dog I notice there is still a piece of tooth left. A google search led me to believe the extraction was not done properly and that my dog is at risk of infection. Her mouth smelt worse than normal so I was worried. I called the vet and explained my concern, the receptionist booked me in for 2 weeks later. On the day of the appointment I get a call from them canceling saying an emergency has come up and we have to rebook. The next appointment was a week later. I understand emergencies happen in the industry but they were not apologetic to us and had no regard for the concern I have for my pet. When we finally see the Dr he then explains the different types of extractions. 1. Takes the entire tooth and , 2. Takes a portion of the tooth. That took less than 5 minutes. He charged full price for a consultation along with a "biohazard fee" that was not discussed before hand and has not been charged on previous visits. He is not in this job for the love of animals. He gouges owners and provides awful service. Please do not take your pets there.

Considering how hard it is to get into a vet with short notice I was impressed that they were able to accommodate us. Our dog suffered an eye injury and they got us booked in the next day. Very professional and fees were reasonable.

Very nice staff! Very attentive and caring- good communication about upcoming appointments. They are doing the best they can during Covid-but that means you cannot go into the office and have to meet them at the door. Doctor K is very nice and explains everything and answers all your questions. We had our Pug spayed here and it went very well! No complications ?Would recommend!

My elderly cat went to this vet for a few years. Was okay until COVID started and they would not allow us to be there during the process of euthanizing our cat. We got a second opinion where they told us how weird it is to not allow you to be there for your pets last moments. Overall, any other vet in Ottawa will most likely allow you to be there for even routine appointments. but I cannot understand why this one won't.

This is the best veterinary hospital I have been with & I will forever be bringing my pets here from now on! Dr. Kamat really cares, is honest, patient and respectful. Everyone in the office truly love animals and treat them as their own. They have amazing bed-side manner, the prices are very reasonable and all the staff are truly special! You will never find a better veterinary hospital! Thank you all again for everything you do.

I agreed with other reviews that this place is “money milking from pet owners”. I had spent too much money more than $1000 for just 3 visits for my puppy checkups and vaccinations. Yesterday the Vet sold me the box of pills to prevent Ticks and mosquitoes for my puppy and I found out it’s double the cost than I could order from online without any prescription required. I called to complain and asked to speak to the Vet, his staff told me he’ll call me back but I haven’t heard from him since. I’m sure as a professional veterinarian, he doesn’t need to get rich by jacking up the cost of medicine from the new pet owner. Please don’t let him sell any meds for your pets without checking the price from the market first, unless you can’t buy anywhere but from him! We’re senior citizens and we used his services for my puppy because of the convenient location. I felt that he had taken advantages to treat our pet! I planned to take my puppy for neutering by him in summer, but he mentioned it will be about $700, is it reasonable??? I disagree with your response below, as I called and explained to you that I didn’t have a choice when you gave me the med and charged me. As soon as I got home and found out it was overcharged, I called back to talk to your staff and then you immediately. The BOX is still sealed and I haven’t opened and given to my dog yet, until I see if I could return. Stop writing more excuses and should be more honest to your clients with your fee. As I said before, you don’t need to get rich from new pet owners by overcharged the medicine for their pets. Period! I’m not the first one who complained about how much you charged on this medication for dogs. Dog owners please be aware.
