My puppy's neuter was okay, but they left a needle in his leg! I removed it myself as I didn't want to return to a clinic that was 45 minutes late for pickup and had a chicken bone just outside the door (had to reach into the pup's mouth to remove it)

Although they were booked up for appointments on the weekend, Bank Street Animal Hospital squeezed in an exam of my senior cat and were able to diagnose a UTI on the spot. As a result we were able to start him on antibiotics on Saturday instead of waiting till Monday, and a faster recovery for him. We drove an hour in from the country for the appointment, and it was well worth it.

Bank Street Animal Hospital is super understanding and professional. I would highly recommend seeing Dr Rosa Parker! She is the best at handling the pets and also she is patient and walks you through the cost of different treatments. They are also much cheaper than other hospitals in the Ottawa South area

I brought my dog Mavis there to have some lumps checked. I went back and forth many times and spent almost $2000. This went on for over two weeks. Meanwhile Mavis kept getting sicker and sicker. They did a full range of tests and couldn’t come up with a diagnosis. Finally they told me there was nothing they could do but they’d refer me to a specialist. After a few days I got a call from three different specialists. One rehab, one sports medicine and one surgical. None of them were sure why a referral was made and asked me what diagnosis Mavis had. I obviously didn’t know. In the meantime Mavis continued to get even more sick. Finally one Sunday she was so bad I brought her to Alta Vista emergency. Within a few hours I had a diagnosis and we began to treat Mavis for an immune disorder. She spent 4 nights in the hospital and I was told she could have died had I not brought her in. They had no idea how Bank Street missed this and got a copy of her file. Mavis is now doing well and I will never bring her to Bank Street again. I reached out to Bank Street to inform them of what happened and request they refund my close to $2000 I spent. I was told they were going to make an insurance claim and whatever they got out of the insurance claim they’d give me. What?? So they admitted they dropped the ball but wanted me to wait for insurance. I wasn’t having that. I’m now suing them in small claims court. Please do not bring your animal here. Seems people who just have regular checkups have only positive things to say. I did until this. But people who’s pets need actual care and a diagnosis seem to have similar experiences to mine. This is not a good place.

Being a medical professional myself and a client of this practice I called them after my cat began having the exact same UTI symptoms as over a year ago. I called looking for a refill of the antibiotic that was used. The staff stated that my cat needed to be assessed before they could do that. When explained that I am a MD myself and that I have recognized the exact same thing is occurring with my animal the staff stated that their policy was that the animal needed to be assessed. When asked for an apt time, the staff said the nearest avail apt time is 4 days from now. I explained to her that during our first visit, no urine dip was done, no X-ray was done etc as I wanted to try the cheaper solution of just antibiotics first. The staff refused and stated my animal would have to remain sick until I can bring her in refuse the X-ray and urine assessments and leave with the antibiotics. They are just looking for charging the extra $$$ for assessment

The worst experience of my life. Up until my terrible experience, I had questioned some questionable information they were providing to me. My dog had gotten bitten by a tick, so I decided to have him tested to besure he did not contract lime desease. Please keep in mind they had up until now provided all care to "Sergeant". I had noticed on an earlier visit that Sergeant had a muzzle on. I did not understand this as he had just had surgery and was still groggy. I saw this by accident when the girl went to the back, I saw through the door. There was no need to have him muzzled at that time. I didn't say anything about this. Skip ahead now to when I arrived for a blood test. I arrived along with my adult son. My dog was taken inside as I was waiting in the hallway with others. I could hear my dog was wimpering , not barking. Next an assistant beings him out to me, saying they could not give him the test as he had bitten three people including her. I saw no signs on her that she had been bitten, and I was in shock to hear this. If they put the muzzle on my dog when he was sedated, why not when he is fully awake. I would not have objected to this. I was also embarrassed by the fact the lady said this infront of a group of people. I was advised sergeant needed to take a sedating medication and return him the next day. I was still trying to come to terms with the biting. I agreed to buy the medication and return him the next day. Once I arrived home I was still bothered by what was said to me. I called back to the clinic and ask who my dog bit, how serious it was? Suddenly no one would admit to anything, saying they knew nothing about it. This was just 30 mins of me being there. I ask that when I arrive the next day that I could speak with a manager, it was agreed but never happened. She never came to speak with me. My son went in and held my dog while he received the test, my dog did not get sedated from the medication and never made any attempt to bite anyone while my son was there. I knew now that they had lied to me as they did not have the patients to tend to him with kind hands. It was easier just to accuse him of biting. I have now found a compassionate clinic for my baby. While the request was made for his medical records, the new clinic was informed I had an agressive dog. They were so supprised that in fact he was the complete opposite . The vet came out and took the time to tell me what a nice dog I had and he could not understand why #bankstreetanimalhospital would say otherwise. All I can say is don't trust, their front is fake and you have no idea what they are doing to your animal behind close doors. I did eventually speak with the manager, she was less than sorry for my experience. I informed her that I would be filing a complaint. She did say she did not know who said to the dog bit three people. She said they have a high turnover of staff. I wonder why, I guess its a management issue.

I've had nothing but good experiences with this establishment. I have chihuahua so he is very nervous and anxious but they always make him feel very comfortable. He went in to his appointment trembling but came out calm! The vet also carried him out which shows how good they are with dogs as my dog usually only let's immediate family carry him out! Dog picture attached.
