The Hamlet Veterinary Hospital

The team at The Hamlet Veterinary Hospital is amazing. They have cared for our senior dog for years now. Choosing a vet can be hit-or-miss, but never did we have second thoughts in this case. Highly recommend!

The staff is super kind, responsive, prompt, and caring. The care that my dog receives from this animal hospital is above and beyond. We are happy to call them our Vet.

In 2018 I was searching for a new veterinary hospital and was recommended The Hamlet by my dogs' groomer. She was correct when she said they were excellent and their prices were competitive. Over the last 4 years Dr. Séguin and Dr. Vincelette have cared for my various pets (6 cats and 2 dogs). I found that they explained every procedure in detail, never pushed any unnecessary procedure or medication and never rushed me through an appointment especially when my 15 year old Yorkie was in there numerous times in his last 2 month before he passed due to cancer. I have taken in a new dog and have had his file transferred to The Hamlet so that he can receive the excellent care that was always provided to my pets. Excellent team who are professional, compassionate, and who have shown that it's more about the pets than the money. Definitely worth more than a 5 Star rating.

My wife and I had issues with another veterinarian so we thought we'd give these folks a try. Cost and service were a big issue with the previous folks we went to and this place resolved both of those concerns. They were very courteous and friendly, even with my pets. They were helpful with trying to figure out what was wrong with one of my pets and actually called later on to check in and make sure things were going well, which was very much appreciated. Will definitely be coming back.

Really nice and friendly staff, from the vet techs to the veterinarian. We feel comfortable when we go to visit, everytime. Plus they are able to get you an appointment really quickly when you call.

*** Update - I received a call from the manager and he sent me a confirmation that no cancellation fees were charged to my file. He was very professional and took the time to listen and explain their policy, which are the reasons why I changed my review from 2 stars to 4 stars. He explained that his employee didn't understand at first that I had an emergency (even I said I wanted to reschedule because I had an emergency), but didn't charge me after I repeated that I had an emergency and that I was at the hospital. I was told the I would be charged $65 by the employee not $36.50. While I appreciate the call from the manager and the confirmation of no cancellation fee of $36.50 charged to my file, it would have been great if the employee would have told me so when I called them to reschedule and if the employee would have taken the time to ask why I wanted to reschedule (as apparently she didn't hear me say it) instead of telling me right away that I will be charged cancellation fees. *** One thing that the pandemic taught a lot of entreprise is to be compassionate and make accommodations. I had a appointment last week for my cat. I called them to see if I could reschedule as I had an emergency. It was my first time trying to reschedule an appointment. As soon as I said I couldn't attend because of an emergency, they told me that they will charge me $65 and then didn't want to cancel my appointment because I would lose my spot. I called them as soon as possible before entering the hospital. They didn't try to find a solution or understand that I couldn't go to the appointment because I was at the hospital. As a client who never missed an appointment, always followed their recommendations, buy supplements and food from them, I would have expected a better customer service. I gave 2 stars only because my cat likes Dr. Seguin. Unfortunately for my cat, she will have to get comfortable with a new veterinarian.

Be careful bringing your animal here. The regular staff is nice enough, although they have some sketchy practices. Both myself and 2 of my friends have confirmed we have each been charged a few $ extra on some of our bills, where we are suggested we can get our money back during the next visit. On top of this, the vets have been wrong for both my animals and some of my friends' animals. One of my friends had brought his thought to be male cat there 4 or 5 times, the gender of the cat was misinformed every time until his last visit as his cat went into heat and later became pregnant. Management did not care that they misinformed and said it was his fault. Prices aren't great, but they are also not too bad compared to other vets.
