Catherine MacNeill, Chair

After a long career at Queen’s University, where Catherine was the Director of Alumni Affairs, she became the Executive Director for the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education, and later the Senior Researcher for Engagement Analysis Inc. Catherine has the honour of being the current Chair of the Board of Directors of the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society and has been involved with the Ontario SPCA in a variety of roles since 2005. A lifelong advocate with a deep commitment to animal welfare that started at the age of seven, when with her 15 cents allowance, Catherine bought a cat from a neighbour who was mistreating it and brought it home, much to her parent’s surprise. Over the years, Catherine and her husband have taken in and shared their country home and barn with many cats, dogs, horses, donkeys and chickens.

Adam Delle Case, Treasurer

Adam is a Partner with BDO Canada, with over 21 years of professional experience providing accounting and assurance, tax and consulting services to owner-managed corporations, not-for-profit organizations and individuals.

Adam works with a number of not-for-profits and public sector entities and several Boards, advising on various operational and strategic topics that have given him the knowledge of the challenges Boards face and potential solutions to dealing with them.

Krista Slade, Director

Krista Slade is an international advancement leader with experience working on four continents, primarily supporting higher education. This includes leading the fundraising campaign for the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto, global head of advancement for the Rhodes Scholarships and establishing the Asia-Pacific operations for the Council for Advancement & Support of Education (CASE) in Singapore. Krista is a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and active with the Canadian Leaders at Sea program with the Royal Canadian Navy. She is passionate about animal welfare and programs for companion animals and seniors.

Judy DeCicco, Director

Judy is a retired teacher and Principal with significant experience working in Northern Ontario in isolated Indigenous communities. As a Principal, she had the opportunity to modify and adapt the education programs to address the needs of the communities she served.

She has always been an animal lover and felt that the North has different needs. She became a volunteer at the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society and joined their Board soon after.

Judy believes her main role on the Board for the Ontario SPCA is to advocate for the North and provide more representation to address the unique issues and needs seen every day.

Nicole Truman, Secretary

I am a business lawyer in Peterborough, Ontario.

I have always had a soft spot for and a love of animals, and my six years on the Board of Directors for the Peterborough Humane Society only served to deepen these feelings for me. It introduced me to an industry that I am truly passionate about and opened my eyes to the critically important role the Ontario SPCA plays in animal welfare, education and advocacy across the Province of Ontario and beyond.

I am thrilled to be able to continue to strengthen my understanding of the animal welfare field and continue to make a positive impact in the lives of animals, as a member of the Ontario SPCA’s Board of Directors.

I am eager to engage in volunteer work that will enable me to utilize the knowledge acquired from my undergraduate business program, the strategic thinking and analysis skills gained through my law school education, and my current and past experiences working collaboratively in both professional and volunteer team-based environments. I feel that the Ontario SPCA’s mission and the supporting role the Board plays in achieving that mission, are uniquely well-suited to both my qualifications and interests.

My husband and I have a 10-year-old American Foxhound mix named Zorra, who we adopted from the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society.

Renata Dinnocenzo, Director

As the President’s Chief of Staff and Vice-President, Strategy and Brand at Seneca, Renata is currently leading a series of renewal initiatives and oversees strategic and business planning, issues management, and marketing and communications. She also serves as the Corporate Secretary to the Board of Governors.

A proud college graduate, Renata studied journalism at Niagara College and completed the Alternative Dispute Resolution program at Seneca. She has a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Royal Roads University, with a focus on leadership and innovation, and completed the Crisis Leadership in Higher Education Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
