★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We planned this day trip from Calgary. It is one of our favourite spots on The Cowboy Trail and a fascinating part of history in Southern Alberta that spans thousands of years. It's a National & Provincial Historic Site. Please do not climb on the Erratic! It needs to be preserved!

I thought these rocks (big one and few small) came from space but they came from Jasper.. thousands of years ago over a glacial flow.. spot is well maintained.. the spot got toilets as well but I did not check if they are useable or not.. felt nice to visit this.. perfect one for people with interest in geography and geology..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice short stroll about a 500m walk to the rock from the parking lot. Free parking, 2 washroom stalls and garbage cans available. Quick stop over to or from Okotoks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ was able to capture these astonishing stars and the sky was really magical. although we went at night, we couldn’t see the mountains but we stayed there for few minutes and it was really peaceful. ☮️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I freaking loved this place. Its sooo peaceful and serene. Its so close to calgary i cant believe i have never been there before. Great history behind it, came all the way from Jasper national park on a glacier!!!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good pit stop place. Nice short walk around an impressive rock which seems very out of place at first, until you read the fascinating story of how it arrived from the Jasper area thousands of years ago. Washrooms are clean.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well, what can you say! It’s a pretty big rock.
In the middle of a plain, so out of place yet so beautifully in place. There are information boards about how it got there all the way from Jasper! A short visit location but you can just chill there. A 10 min walk around the rock. Good parking options and historically impressive! Feels good to have visited here!
P.s Sorry the photos are dark, we got there after 10.30 PM.
