Purchased new fangled lazer glue system, staff were excellent kudos to little Alex and the old gent in Auto; Anna in the Gas bar is also a real sweetheart

I almost wasn't going to bother writing this review but it has been bothering me for month having never corrected how misleading Amanda's review was and up until she bragged to me how stupid she made Canadian tire look and "really put those minimum wage flunkies in their place". I just can't in good conscious let this go on, they are people too and never should have been treated with such disrespect over a mistake that was totally Amanda's which she obviously never pointed out. You need to understand that Amanda is a very heavy weight person and she has that attitude because she is so over weight that the world has to jump when she tells it to, it is the only way she feels good about herself is by making people feel bad. Since we were there together, I know she told them she wanted them on the summer rims, I even told her at the time it didn't make sense and should go on the winters, even the tech working the counter agreed with me, it wasn't until her husband started screaming at her on the phone before she tried to blame everyone else including me for misleading her and she was the only one who wanted them on the winter rims but we wouldn't listen to her, truth is that she liked the summer rims better. When she hung up she went into that fat lady syndrome and started yelling and freaking out that we all wrecked her life over this and now her husband was angry with her, if they all just did their minimum wage jobs and listened to her in the first place this wouldn't have happened and maybe they need to quit their jobs and go flip burgers at mcdonalds or go get in line at the welfare line! It is really funny since Amanda doesn't even have a job. Anyhow, I'm tired of her attitude and degrading everyone all because she is overweight, the guys at canadian tire were very gracious and I won't be going shopping with Amanda anymore, its embarrassing.

Meh. A decent store with a decent selection, lost in a time warp from 20-odd years ago and revelling in it. The staff were friendly and there was a very out-of-place iPad which helped me pick the correct car part.

I rented a brake caliper tool from them, and the guy at the parts and rentals counter was positive, helpful and funny. A good feel for cusoonstomer service. I then went back to do a cash back transaction, and the older lady behind the check out counter was curt, unhelpful and belittling. She did not want to be there.

The staff are always friendly and helpful, and if they don't know something they radio to ask someone else. The gentleman at the paint area was patient while I asked questions even though the store was busy. Always feel taken care of there.

Bruce, from the service department, saved our Sunday. We discovered a deep crack in one of the tires on our camper trailer as we were heading out of town. Most other tire places were closed and things weren't looking good. I asked if they could help us with the tire and was told absolutely not because they were completely swamped. But Bruce kept me from leaving and said he would see what he could do. They had our tire in stock and squeezed in enough time to get it onto our rim. We were very happy and relieved to be able to take care of that so quickly!! Thanks Bruce, from Denise and Patrick ☺

A simple repair turned into a nine-month nightmare. I needed to get an out of province safety done on an old van so I brought it in. Instead of checking it out and telling me what it would need to pass, they put it in the ICBC system and issued an official fail. This locked me into having all the work (about $3000, although it had just passed an Ontario safety a couple months prior) done in their shop by their mechanic only. After taking over two weeks to find a tail light cover the work was done and the van passed. 13km from the shop the speedometer stopped working again and the van died. I had it towed to a different shop, where it was repaired in an afternoon. The speedometer was meant to be covered by Canadian tire's warranty, so I asked them to fix it. 8 visits, 3 different shop managers and 9 months later the cable has finally been repaired. Along the way I have dealt with openly disrespectful and apathetic staff who have gone so far as to suggest that I should be the one to call the manufacturer and try to track the part down. I have been polite with the staff and I have never lost my temper or been rude. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. That being said, the current shop manager has made me a personal priority and managed to get the correct part and install it within a few weeks of taking the position, despite me being out of town frequently. I can only hope that the current manager Rob will continue to raise the standards of this shop.
