We are being charged to cancel our timeshare ownership with 10 years left on the ownership. Mainteneace fees have skyrocketed and the property is in disrepair. Extremely dissapointed with this company and their customer service - never again!

STAY AWAY! This resort is in serious trouble with class action litigation occurring by approx. 3000 members due to mismanagement, hyper inflated maintenance fees, additional arbitrary renovation fees being charged, buildings and grounds deteriorating. STAY AWAY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Too bad can't post this without giving it zero stars.

I kind of think that time shares are borderline fraudulent. They get your money, then there is nothing to stop them from raising the "maintenance" fees to ridiculous levels. Our fees have already doubled, and I'm thinking about giving the time share away.

If anyone wants our membership for a week every other year, it is available for transfer. The membership, dues, and maintenance fees are paid. Location, location. I can go to EU, specifically Bulgaria, for a week every year for about the same cost - or to Disney World every year for less money. So sad that the fees are not more member friendly.

A company without scruples. Northwynd Resort Properties Ltd bought a bankrupt timeshare resort in need of repairs, at firesale prices and demand that the timeshare β€œowners” pay for the major repairs and renovations. Once the Sunchaser Vacation Villas Resort has been repaired and updated, Northwynd Management plan to sell off half of the resort for a tidy profit.

My wife and I purchased a time share at Fairmont Vacation Villas in good faith, provided the cash they required, honored our committment, and expected them to do the same. We were assured by them that they would have our best interests at heart throughout the process and that we would be treated as they would treat themselves. When we learned about the disrepair that these buildings were in, we queried about where the funds had been going all these years. There was very little maintenance performed on the buildings, and furnishings were not kept up to date as promised. We were then approached with the "LEGACY FOR LIFE" team who attended our city and provided us with a personal guarantee which was to ensure our worry free vacationing for life. We realized later that was nothing more than a huge "CASH GRAB" as the properties were in financial trouble. So much for keeping our best interests at heart. We were then requested to provide a lump sum of money as an "ASSESSMENT" which we were given no option but to oblige. Our now "TROUBLE FREE" vacationing has turned into a nightmare to the point where we cannot even get out without forking over another huge sum of money which appears to be another "CASH GRAB" We are very disappointed in the management of the resort and it would appear to us that someone is cashing in on a large number of unsuspecting souls. This is NOT what we bargained for. .

Nothwynd is the wrong group to be hating on. It was the previous owner / management team that is to blame for poor business practises. They put the resort into receivership and had no buyer come forward then possibly member owners would have had nothing. Nortwynd has helped to make the best of a bad situation. I was not happy with the renovation fee nor have I been happy with the increase in annual fees but I have enjoyed our timeshare for 30 years and will for the remaining 10.

I don't like writing reviews (especially poor ones) but this company has been awful to deal with. My father passed away and I am trying to cancel his timeshare. They have no cancellation clause in their contract and have told me it will be over $4,000 to cancel plus the $1,000 of maintenance fees for this year. With no cancellation clause I don't know how they are able to justify charging me a fee as the timeshare has been paid for. They've shut down their sales division which tells me the business is in trouble as no one wants to purchase new timeshares. I'm extremely disappointed with their poor customer service and their inability to answer my questions.
