The Nightshade Story
You might wonder why we’re called Nightshade Corsets when we sell so much more! Nightshade Corsets first began in the late 90s as a side business for the owner, who sewed steel boned corsets in her spare time, and consigned them at local shops around Edmonton. After working for years in customer service, she was eventually able to open a shop of her own, and kept the name Nightshade as it was what she was known for around Edmonton.
Nightshade’s first location was the Downtown store, and focused more heavily on corsets than anything else. As people started asking for more styles and products, Nightshade outgrew its space, and a second location was opened just off Whyte Ave. Being able to have not one but two shops open is a testament to the diverse, creative people that live in Edmonton!

The associate there helped me pick out different styles and sizes all while in my price range. She listened to what I wanted and what my concerns were. She also helped lace it up and got the corsets ready to try on. Now I have a corset that fits perfectly and is also comfortable. I will come back next time I buy a corset, the service and quality beats buying online for sure.

Girl inside said “we aren’t open yet” and we said “your sign says otherwise”. She proceeded to point at the door and said “well the hours are right there”.
We walked around until the store was open and she couldn’t even be bothered to acknowledge us. No eye contact, no offer of help. We drove 3 hours for this place. Horrible service. She needs to learn how to treat customers. We will be going to a big box store instead to spend our money. Shame.

Staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful and make you feel comfortable and at ease.
I give an extra special shout out to Lizzie who was more than gracious and helped me a lot.
