National provides an Excellent rental service at Calgary international Airport.
After a short wait, a lady at the service desk handled all the usual paperwork quite swiftly (much faster than we are used too) and there was no annoying sales pitch about extra insurance. Tip: prepare and fully enter details at home, saves time.
The car we rented was a full size SUV by Ford which was in excellent condition, just 1 chip in the screen. Okay it was not 100% clean (8 out of 10) , but the salt and debris on the roads accounted for that. Driving the Ford Expedition was like riding a bike: easy and effortlessly. Super comfy, powerful and reliable. Also the heating was up to the task at -30 degr.C. The car was equiped with Sat Nav and M+S tyres, which are a obvious concession to real winter tires, but the 4WD and drive settings dealt with the slippery roads we encountered. Only braking down-hill meant looking ahead and adjusting speed.
Upon return we needed to undergo a PCR test at the airport and we were allowed to leave a car with luggage at the center. This was very convenient for us and much appreciated. Great service. The car checked out OK and we got a confirmation per email within just 5 minutes.
Highly recommended: we were very happy with the service and vehicle provided by National and will choose them again upon our next visit to Canada.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Afram went above and beyond to make our experience top notch. He was friendly from the get go, and was the pinnacle of customer service.
I made a HUGE mistake and took our keys with us through customs, and he worked with me to get the keys back and was so helpful walking us through the process. This is why I use National!
Our Mazda was amazing as well. Treated us well on a long road trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I booked a vehicle months in Advance with Budget Car Rental, needless to say that didn't go according to plan once I arrived after flying in from Toronto.
After cancelling with Budget I went to the next counter over which was National. The gentlemen at the desk had me in a vehicle with my 2 kids within 10 minutes with no issues at all. There was a choice in vehicle and he explained the cost difference for each as well as which ones would be best for what I was looking for. The car itself had no issues at all and served us well for 5 days! Drop off was incredibly quick and easy as well and my receipt was emailed after the car was checked back in.
Next time I'll definitely be saving the hassle and booking with National from the beginning! ?
