This applies to Dollar car rental at the Calgary airport however Hertz and Dollar appear to be as one so my review will be here. I rented a clean and spotless car in September and upon my return the attendant accused me of having a dog in it. He found what looked like a hair on the floor. I explained that no, I had not had a dog in it. To make a long story short a couple of weeks later I checked my visa and found an unauthorized charge for $130 for "damage". I tried all routes to get the money returned however they decided to believe their attendant over me. Don't rent from them, they stole from me. Very poor customer service.

We had our car rental booked from Calgary Airport and after experiencing a fuel leak with our rental car, we called the emergency roadside assistance to get a vehicle replacement due to us unable to drive it. As a summary, it was difficult to get through to anyone and after multiple phone calls we were promised a tow truck. The tow truck never showed and the next morning we were told that it had been delayed a further 6 hours due to us being in the red zone as it was snowing. This update was 2 hours after we had been told that one was close by and would be with us shortly. Hertz also informed us that they could not supply us with a replacement vehicle unless we found our own way from Canmore to Calgary Airport to pick up a new car. In total, we were without a rental car for exactly 20 hours. The service that we received was extremely unhelpful and the employees were unapologetic to our situation. We were lucky that the car broke down near to where we were staying otherwise we would have had to wait this time in below freezing temperatures for a tow truck. It is worth noting that we sourced a replacement car from Hertz in Banff due to the Calgary staff being very inflexible and unhelpful. This branch was considerate and provided us with good customer service which was welcomed after the many phone calls and emails that we spent a day of our vacation trying to get a replacement car. Throughout our travels in Canada, we spoke to multiple Hertz agents however each one said either a manager wasn't available to help us, or that we had to go back to Calgary Airport to resolve our matter. Our case number is still open however we are still waiting for a response from the Calgary Hertz team whether they will offer us any compensation for our inconvenience as I feel that it is unacceptable to be charged for car rental when we did not have an operating car. I am very disappointed with our Hertz experience and would suggest everyone avoid renting with Hertz from this location.

A very good star rating because of Georges! Georges had great customer service. An employee that is a great asset to your company. Made our experience better especially our reservation being last minute and it was high stress due to our cancelled flight back home! Again thank you Georges! You are amazing!

From what started out as a nightmare to our Canada trip was turned around by Mike from Hertz! We arrived to Calgary instead a day later from my original reservation but Mike was so friendly and accommodating, he upgraded our car to a Jeep Wrangler for a great deal! Got us out of the airport and onto the road very promptly so we could finally enjoy our mini vacay during Thanksgiving weekend!

Nick at this location is truly exceptional. Enterprise sold out of the SUV we had rented in early February, so we were left without a car. Nick made magic happen, renting us his the last SUV they had and saving the day. In addition, he helped us sign up for Hertz's loyalty program and provided tips on where to find the best donair in Calgary (Jimmy's, which did NOT disappoint). I highly recommend Hertz and especially Nick for their excellent customer service.

I originally booked through Thrifty but my pick up location was at the Hertz care rental counter so I will also be writing my review here as well. I booked a car rental for a work trip January 8-16. After a delayed flight and delayed baggage, I was incredibly tired and frustrated. Georges helped me at the counter and he was beyond helpful, courteous and had the best customer service skills from any one I've had dealings with. This was the best way to start my solo work trip and it changed my entire evening by just having such a positive experience and communication. I hope that there are more employees that go above and beyond like Georges to uplift its customers especially during these incredibly challenging times.

Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar are the same company. I rented a van in Thrifty before Xmas 2021. There was a mistake to charge me an extra of 500$. After 7 weeks of waiting and numerous calls, I am still waiting for my refund. The staff was polite on the phone but it's not helping me. All I need is get my refund. They told me it takes up to 4 weeks for IT department to finish the transaction but it's 7 weeks already. And honestly I don't know if something takes 4 weeks can still be called "IT". Even manual operation can be much faster than this. Extremely frustrated!! In the process, I also contacted the website (both Thrifty and Hertz) to request a receipt, but no reply from email at all. Also, I was told by staff (for 3 times) that a manager will call me but never did I get one call from a manager. Will do my best to avoid HERTZ/Thrifty/Dollar in the future! UPDATE on Feb/23/2022 Just got callback from Calgary Hertz manager (after the 5th time i was told that she will call). What she told me is the claim has been submitted on Jan-5 but still not processed (after 50+ days). It is neither declined nor approved. And that she cannot do anything to speed it up.

Very friendly staff. Got the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2022 with only 3600km on it as recommended by the staff. Was not disappointed with the selection. The jeep was in amazing condition. The process was very smooth. They just need your credit card and driver's license. You sign some paperwork and you're on you're way out. All the car rentals are located on the opposite side of gate#6. You take the elevator to the 2nd floor where all the car rentals are at. When we returned our car it literally took less than 2mins as everything was automated. The person just told us to take our luggage and confirmed the details. I got the electronic receipt in my email within 5mins. Would highly recommend their services
