Excellent communication between the crew & us, particularly explaining schedules and what would happen to our various belongings. This is the first time we used a moving company for the whole process, and were very happy it went a lot more smoothly than we anticipated.

Excellent service and communication. They came to our rescue when we needed a short notice small move for my aunt to her new apartment. I cannot reccomend these guys enough. The move was done quickly and professionally on the day we needed it completed.

Excellent service. Quick clean easy! Well done guys. Would recommend them not only because they are the cheapest but they were extremely quick and installed some of our furniture too!

?Ignored a few reg flags with unprofessional telephone communication, answered phones by just saying, “hello” instead of something like “metropolitan movers” I had to confirm that I was in fact calling “metropolitan movers”, small detail but sometimes things seem suspicious because they in fact are. Booked a move anyway 2.5 weeks in advance. Received a confirmation email, order number etc. seemed legitimate. Day before expected maybe a check-in call, never came but it was just after Christmas and given the previous phone communications I thought this was par for the course. Move was booked for 9am, with two elevators booked for two condos, so a time sensitive move. 9:30am rolls around, no movers. I call, they say “they’re a few minutes away.” Fifteen minutes goes by, still no movers. I call back and now they tell me they didn’t have my move booked, they could send me a confirmation saying they didn’t have it booked. So, a blank email? After some heated discourse, they tell me a team will come between 12-1, they will send an extra mover so it’ll go much quicker and they will offer me a discount. The “team” came- let me tell you this is my third time hiring movers- arriving in sneakers, puffers coats and little to no equipment ?. They arrived at 1:45, they were extremely slow (probably from completing an earlier move) took them 5 1/2 hours to move a 1 bedroom apt to 1 bedroom apt 2.5km away. I ended up having to move things myself along with my 73 year old father. Lost my security deposit in my building due to some damage from the move as well as a marble table was damaged due to lack of proper moving equipment. Their “insurance” doesn’t cover that. Then comes the $$ gauge that “discount” was “we’ll knock off 1/2 hour from move and charge $60/hr more for an additional mover”. Now if the additional mover had resulted in fact a quicker move, sure maybe it was worth it, but it took nearly twice the time and I hadn’t agreed to pay that premium (and keep in mind I’ve done this move twice before with almost identical situations). In the end I ended up paying $115/h x 5hrs + truck rental fee, taxes, tip and bought the movers lunch. I felt very ripped off. the one upswing is nearly none of my things were damaged (likely due to the care I put into packing and wrapping my things) but should that be the bare minimum one expects from a moving company? Would NEVER recommend (but I think you could have figured that one out on your own).

Very efficient and quick, didn't waste time and more importantly didn't damage anything. They even helped out the inept couch delivery persons to guide our new furniture to the unit. Would recommend them to friends and family, or even use them in future for ourselves.

The entire team assigned to our move were exceptional. They were pleasant, capable, patient and above all, exemplary in terms of professionalism. I appreciated their can do attitude and endless supply of energy. I felt extremely calm and confident with the team involved. They handled our move expertly from start to finish.

Eric and his crew were expeditious and kind. We had contacted him, along with a few other moving companies, to do a job just two days in advance. Eric was really helpful and easy to work with compared to all the other companies. Highly recommend.

Lack of accountability. After I posted the following review, they say they will pay more attention to future customers... No mention of rectifying the mess they created for me! What about restitution for the money I spent and got no service or compensation for? I moved over a labor day weekend. Metropolitan was able to accommodate the date I wanted. They showed up in a Thrifty van, too small to hold my belongings, NO moving blankets whatsoever, furniture pilled on top of each other, and furniture drawers taped, which stripped wood varnish off. A bookcase was chipped and they said unless it is in splinters, they do not cover damages. They took 1 1/2 hours to drive a 20 minute distance, then proceeded to eat lunch in their truck. I had to rent a U-Haul later to finish my move. No response from them since I filed a complaint. So I am posting this review. Good luck if you use these guys, just be sure that it is not on a busy weekend - or they will take the job and just rent a truck and hire inexperienced bodies.
