About Medicentres Family Care Clinics
Over three decades ago, two Edmonton physicians had the vision to bring accessible health care to Albertans on a non-appointment, extended hour basis. Making that vision a reality, in 1979 they established Medicentres, which is now the largest group of medical clinics in Western Canada.
Medicentres continues to grow and evolve. We now have 30 walk-in clinics in 8 Canadian cities with over 300 employees including nurses, receptionists and associated health care personnel and almost 200 practicing physicians. Many of our walk-in clinics now include a variety of specialists who work in consult with our family physicians.
Our physicians care for patients in a traditional family practice through scheduled appointments, and on a walk in basis while also providing episodic care through our Fastrack Program. Designed to deal with minor injuries and medical issues, prescription refills and immunizations, the Fastrack Program provides you with the next available appointment.
Employers will find assistance for their workers through Occupational Injury Services, pre-employment physicals and drivers’ exams. We also provide Immigration physicals and a host of other uninsured services.
Each year, thousands of patients visit our clinics, and have come to depend on Medicentres to deliver quality health care for everyone.

Our 15 month old had 40+ degrees fever, went to childrens and wait time was 5 hours, came here and front desk said dr already saw their max capacity which was 30 people and can’t see anymore. I said my baby is suffering please, she said he doesn’t get paid for any extra patients! I couldn’t believe my ears! Then i said can you pls go back and talk to him and explain that there’s a very I’ll baby, and even at emerg they couldn’t see him, I’m sure ethically as a dr hell quickly see him. She did, and they came out and said sorry, we advise u to go back to emerg as I don’t get paid, and u can call AHS and complain to them if you want!! Thankful for the pharmacist at rexell who helped us a lot instead after knowing what had happened! Do not visit this place!! You are just a number, and this dr’s license should be taken away. It is NOT dr. Boktor btw, it is someone else!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ WORSTT!! My Wife and my son came in for a walk in yesterday because my wife found a bump on my sons head. They went in and asked for a opinion if they should go to the hospital or just stay there to get it checked out. The Doctor then said "Yeah you guys should go" in a way that my Wife got worried and rushed my son to the hospital and had to call me out of work. as it was an "unusual bump" he said. We then went to the hospital waited for 5 hrs just for the doctor to tell us that it was nothing that we shouldn't be worried about and that the doctor here should have called to the hospital so we would have been checked out right away because of the "unusual bump" that he is saying take note It was a 25 mins drive and my 4 hrs work that just went away just for nothing that he should've check out himself and no need for us to go to the hospital

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This evening I was turned down because I didn't take a rapid test prior to walking in. The waiting area was empty. I understand how scary this covid situation is but when I asked where I could get a rapid test, the receptionist said she doesn't know. I also asked if the Rexall pharmacy that Medicentre is in had rapid test and she also said she doesn't know. Where am I suppose to get help? I don't want to visit an Emergency Centre...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did a walk in in this clinic and Dr. Charles was amazing!!! My 2 y/o son's family doctor wouldn't see him despite having cough for three months and even after having a PCR test done. Dr. Charles sent him for Xray and found out he had bronchitis and gave him medicine and now he is all good. Thank you so much for looking after my son. He did better than our family doc who kept doing phone consult that clearly didnt help and let my child suffer with cough for three months!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a bad experience in here I booked an appointment 2pm and when I went there the clinic was closed and waited until 3pm to open and then I asked the unit clerk and she said that I don’t have appointment and she added me as walked in so have have to wait again.. and then when they called me in waited again for 40mins for the doctor.. the worst doctor I’ve ever seen he took 30 seconds to checked on me I didn’t even got a chance to asked what’s the best medication for my cough because I’m taking also a medication for kidney.. he was rushing to go after a few checks only! I was also gonna ask for a doctors note because I need it for work but I didn’t got a chance because he was already rushing to go!! I can’t believe it! You don’t have compassion to your patient! Don’t remember the name of the doctor.. He didn’t even introduce himself to his patient.. I definitely don’t recommend this place!

Friendly staff, was seen in a timely manner despite all of the previous appointments they had, and because my case was so straightforward (minor animal bite), I was pretty much in and out with my prescription. I really like the doctor I had, I can't remember his name but he worked Wednesday afternoon. Really happy to find this clinic after being turned away by nearly a dozen other clinics that morning.
