DR BAINS MATERNITY LEAVE

Please note that from 1st April 2022 for the remainder of the year Dr Bains will be off on maternity leave.

Dr Bains’s last day at the clinic will be March 29th, 2022.

During this time, we endeavour to have a locum physician covering Dr Bains’s patients. There may be times when this is not possible in which case you will be able to book an appointment with one of the other physicians at Maple Leaf Health Centre. Furthermore, Dr Bhangra at Royal Vista Medical Clinic in Royal Oak, Calgary will also be happy to see patients for urgent queries when feasible.

Dr Bains apologizes for any inconvenience this causes patients and she hopes to update you on her return plans at the end of 2022.

M	Myrna A I Strain on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr. OLGA is very personal, efficient and professional. She ties thoroughness to timeliness. It's been a while since I've had a Dr. who sits at the desk beside you to communicate ! Easier to book online than by phone. Very happy with her.

She never makes you feel like she just wants to move onto the next patient and yet I've rarely waited more than 5 mins past my appointment time. The other doctors she's recruited into her practice are also fantastic, and the clinic even hosts OBGYN's from Canmore on Thursdays to help with prenatal appointments for Cochrane patients! Fees for services not covered are comparable to other clinics if you're aware of the services you require (there are also signs posted on the wall of the offices). The hours are very compatible even for people who work in Calgary who need weekday evening appointments. Excellent online booking system for easy booking/cancellations as well.

That is pretty normal however, the previous patients received no priority, they are apparently scheduling “meet and greets” with each prospective patient which seems like a cash grab (quick appointment with no medical issue), I was told they are doing 5 meet and greet meetings a week (when a doctor has no patients?!?) and there are over 300 persons on the list, they won’t tell you where you sit on the list (if it will likely be a week or a year...), now they are not doing any meet and greets because they are in a bind because one of the doctors went on mat leave (how this caught them off guard who knows). No worries, I’ll ask the manager. Nope, he is off on paternity leave...(obviously his right). I would look elsewhere but it will cost $500 to transfer my family’s files. It’s an gong show. Tina the receptionist is very nice and the doctors are good, this is a organization problem. Wish me luck.
K	Kyle Boyd on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr. Pagan is amazing and I’m glad we have him as a Family doctor, he really gets to know his patients, unfortunately for those who do not have a family doctor here there are no walk ins but I would highly recommend getting on the waiting list

Whatever happened to the Hippocratic Oath? Or have these doctors never heard of it?

The booked me in asap after I phoned in and she injected it and it already looks and feels so much better. I couldn’t be happier! She was also amazing during my accutane journey a few years ago. Highly recommend.
A	Anne Rosemary on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was a patient here ever since they opened. However, I had to cancel some appointments this year as we got sick fairly often this Fall, once with COVID. All appointments were always cancelled the day before, never the day of. Signed on today to make an appointment only to find out I’m not assigned to the clinic anymore. Can’t even pull it up on the list. No e-mail about being removed. Nothing. Just no longer able to book appointments. Email appointment reminders always said “if you are sick or unable to make your appointment to cancel your appointment” so I did. I didn’t want to attend my appointments and risk getting anyone sick but apparently that gets you removed as a patient.
