★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I come here semi-regularly for service on my car due to the convenient downtown location. They can usually work on my vehicle in a timely manner. Unfortunately, they charge a lot more than other mechanics and tell you that you need more work than is actually necessary. Take their advice with a grain of salt.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have a 2006 Saab 93 and 2008 Honda CR-V. They are reliable, reasonable and transparent pricing, good quality work. No complaints and I highly recommend them. Heck, you can drop off your car, walk down Locke for a coffee and come back and tune ups should be ready.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've had a few different types of work done here and they've always been transparent, fair, and straightforward. When I had my timing belt done, I called a few different places to get a quote and they were absolutely in line or cheaper than the other places I called. The guys are very pleasant and helpful, they explain things clearly and are not condescending. Would recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I brought a car that I was purchasing in to be safetied. The safety required a few things to be fixed which I happily did. Within days of the safety and completing the purchase of the car i found a large hole in the muffler that was missed during the safety. This meant I had to spend 800 to fix the muffler on a car that I was told was in good running condition and therefore bought the car thinking this. A hole in the muffler is a pretty big thing to miss when safetying a car :(

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In the past we have brought vehicles here without complaint, but recently the attitude and inconsistency of the mechanics has left me frustrated and unable to recommend them anymore. We were quoted for a safety inspection list of repairs and proceeded based on the quote we were given, yet unnecessary and expensive additions were added. There is a lack of willingness to come up with creative solutions for customers and the attitude of some of the mechanics is down right rude. Save yourself the headache and take your vehicle to somewhere trustworthy and customer focused.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Used to be where we would bring our vehicles but recently we have been so disappointed in the service. On one car we were purchasing they missed a non working horn and seat belt defect most recently we brought a car in to for the safety paid the $150 for the assessment - got a list of a few things. Went else where to get them fixed and then when we brought it back to Locke st they claimed to have found more items that were not in the initial assessment and wanted $1000 to fix it and showed no concern that those initial items were missed in the initial assessment. Above that we couldn’t believe how rude the lead mechanic was. They have lost our families business.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What can I say about THE BEST mechanic shop in Ontario !! I have only been driving for a few years now but I will only recommend 260 Locke Street Tire and Automotive. Not only do I recieve exceptional service from Jeff but also Sam who always answers any questions I may have.
Both Sam and Jeff have been nothing but patient, honest, real and supportive of my decisions with the 2 cars I have had. I chanced seeing another mechanic once a few years back from referral and it could not have been a bigger mistake and waste of money.
The 260 location has fair pricing, plus honest and trustworthy work. I heard a lot of stories about shady mechanics before I started to drive, however i have not once experienced that here.... i even inquired about vehicles that would be best suiting my needs before i purchased my last car. I feel safe after Jeff repairs any issues my car may have, and safety means everything.
Thank you Sam and Jeff for all you have done over the last 3 years! Here's to many more visits (fingers crossed just for oil changes) !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have only ever had great experiences with Locke St. Tire & Automotive. I've had my car serviced many times there over the years. They never price gouge and always explain things clearly so I understand what needs to be fixed and whether it's a necessary fix (which I appreciate considering I know very little about cars). They're friendly, quick, and no-nonsense, and since the pandemic hit, they've been working hard to do things safely while taking care of customers' cars. Today they made my day - my battery died because I left my lights on overnight, and since I live just around the corner, I called them to ask if I could pay them to give me a jump - more convenient than calling CAA. In 5 minutes, Sam was at my door with a battery and cables and his trademark friendly attitude and he gave my car a jump at no charge. This kind of service matches everything else I've experienced there. Highly recommend!
