Lions Gate Optometry & Optical

I love this optometrist! His staff is always friendly and professional. He is knowledgeable and explains things really well and has a quirky sense of humour. I have been taking my kids to them since they were little and he is so good with them. He is never pushy about making you buy frames from him. My family has been seeing him for over 20 years.

I saw Dr. Mahmood Gilani in October 2020 for the first time, for an eye exam, and also to receive advice for an upcoming cataract surgery that I kept postponing for over a year because of fear. I have been losing my vision a lot in the past few years, and with a cataract in one eye and a vitreous detachment in that same eye, I have found it very difficult to decide which set of letters I see better on the charts during the visual acuity test. I have had 4 eye exams in the past 2 years with 4 different eye Doctors, and it’s the first time that I feel comfortable with my charts choices, and that’s because Dr. Gilani was explaining why it was so difficult for me with my conditions and his explanations helped me understand how to choose the best charts, which made my eye exam so much easier for me. I was really afraid of having a cataract surgery, I had asked questions to the Optometrist that I had been seeing for years in Whistler and she wasn’t able to remove my fear of the surgery, her answers were mostly to just go for it, but I had a lot of concerns that she wasn’t able to appease. I also had a discussion with another Optometrist and I still wasn’t convinced. But when I had a conversation with Dr. Gilani everything changed and I am now scheduled for my cataract surgery in November, and all my fears have been removed. Dr. Gilani is a very patient person and he explains everything so well, I can tell that he really cares for our wellbeing. And the entire staff at the clinic are very nice, professional, and competent. I live an hour away from Dr. Gilani’s clinic and it’s worth the drive. I highly recommend him and his clinic Lions Gate Optometry and Optical in North Vancouver.

I have just had my eyes tested at Dr Mahmood Gilani’s clinic I was so pleased with my visit being greeted by the staff with a smile on their faces and very polite. I find Dr Gilani to be very professional in his work he explains everything that he is doing and takes lots of time with you. I would highly recommend LionsGate Optomotrist Clinic to everybody that is apprehensive about having their eyes tested you will be very pleased with your decision after seeing Dr Gilani.

Awful People. Just awful . Rude . Can i use your washroom please.... Answer = NO . Go and use Lionsgate Hospitals . What medical facility doesnt have a washroom you can use? Really? This was a Shocking experience and will NOT go here again or reccommend it. STAY AWAY! RIP OFF ALSO.

My family and i highly recommend Lions Gate Optometry & Optical. My eye examination was excellent. The Doctor was so thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. In addition, the Doctor guided me through the whole eye exam, and explained every step. I would rate the eye exam, and the fantastic customer service a 10/10. I recommend Lions Gate Optical to as many people as I can because I always leave with a beautiful pair of new, high fashion glasses, and a very excellent eye exam. My eyes feel healthy, and my eye wear gets so many compliments. My eye glasses have been receiving lots of compliments on my Zoom sessions! Thank you!!!.

I always have a great experience here. Dr. Gilani does a thorough eye examination and is extremely kind throughout the process. He is very knowledgeable and ensures the patient is always comfortable which are essential qualities in an optometrist. I would highly recommend Dr. Gilani to anyone.

This appointment was the absolute best interaction I have ever had with any doctor. Dr. Gilani is kind, informative, patient and so considerate. The entire process was pleasant. From the moment I walked into the office until I left, I was completely amazed by the level of customer service. I highly recommend visiting this office.

Our family has been going to Dr. Gilani for over 10 years. My kids have their eye exam with him annually. He is always friendly and pleasant and excellent with young kids making them feel comfortable. He has me in the exam room with the kids to help answer any questions and get a thorough history. He takes the time to explain and teach the kids about eye health. I also can't say enough about Debbie at the front desk. She is so friendly and was extremely helpful when my son was learning to put contact lens in. I highly recommend Dr Gilani and his team.
