★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This lake is extremely beautiful especially for cottages and family camping. You will really love it. I would recommend to any new couple , family or friends get together. The sight of the hills and the mountains are very pleasant to the eye.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the best hike here! It was quiet and uncrowded. Anyone we met had respect for the surrounding environment. Dogs are welcome yet asked to them under control.
There's public washrooms near the parking lots. Trails are groomed making for easier snowshoeing.
What you carry in, you carry out is a good rule to follow.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lighting lake is frozen during April first week just beginning of Spring. It was nice to take a safe walk on the Lake. It was really nice and be safe when walking on the frozen lake

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lake loop: Easy trail, good to stretch your legs on a long drive. However, if you go clockwise, I would recommend turning back halfway. The orhter half of the trail wasnt great, it was rainy and there was no coverage offered by the trees, the trail is more open and there is also a long portion of road trail, which I am not a fan. There seems to be some more interesting trails going up the mountain which we didnt do as we got there at 3pm and it was raining.
