Booked the site long in advance and they started working on the tent section just before our arrival which was nothing but empty wood squares meant to be tent pads for smaller tents that hadnt been filled yet. Most of our tents barely fit in them and was a massive tripping hazzard. Then they told us they didnt want us setting up between the trees but we couldnt fit anywhere else. This is meant for large groups but the new pads and smaller tent area is lacking.
D	Debra Vonk on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Their ongoing renos are making this spot less and less tent friendly. They are catering to trailers. Very little room for tenting now. We rent this spot yearly for a large family camping trip. It used to have tons of space for tents. Last year they put in a brand new shelter which is very nice but when we got there we could not fully use it as the concrete in the front had just been poured so we could only enter by back door. There was tons of nails and other construction debris everywhere. The addition of flush toilets and a sink was nice. This year we arrived to even less tent space and some weird unfinished tent pad things. They do not fit large tents. All are tents were pretty much on top of eachother as very few fit in the designated tent pads. The perk of this spot though is the lake access. The spot is pretty much on the lake. Unfortunately the walking path is right there and all the people think it's ok to come into the campsite that we paid alot to rent to use the facilities even though there is a sign telling them it's not allowed.
P	Phil G on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Completely surprised that year round camping is possible here. I will note that winter is cold (bitterly cold" and you need to be prepared for -20C or colder if you are going to camp here. They do have a cabin to sleep in or warm up in, it's enclosed and does accept a fire in a wood fireplace but you have to pack in your own firewood. Being at least 3 bundles per day and you should be good. Probably the most surprising and well thought out winter camping I've done.
V	Vince Arao on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not too crowded. One minute walk from parking. Close to Lightning Lake and trails. Very clean/modern outhouses and shelter. Shelter has a stove for making a fire.
