Lexi Nails & Spa - Nail Salon Richmond

I have gone to this salon off and on for years. It is very inconsistent, but this last time is the last. After paying to get fill, less than two weeks later 1 cracked and one nail snapped off. The main reason for me never going back is less about the ridiculous fact they made me pay AGAIN for the nails to be redone when they should have put enough powder on that it was strong enough to last for at least 2 WEEKS! ( And I wonder if this is another way they make more money?! ) My nails are not long and normally I have no problem. What makes me never go back is the fact that they didn't tell me of the charge. This is very sneaky and I do not support deceptive business practice. They are NOT allowed to charge you for services without your prior approval. They cannot "add" costs in without your consent. When I had originally got my nails done there, I specifically asked what is the TOTAL price for the nails and the lady who did them, while she was putting on the top coat mind you, tells me , "Oh, I forgot, this costs extra $5". Yet I had asked her what the TOTAL price would be before she even started. Now, I paid the extra $5 then, but I am tired of these"extra" charges that they try to give you AFTER they have already done it. This self righteous attitude and hidden charges is unlawful. All they have to do is tell the person the cost, but it seems like they wait until after and then what the"think" the charge should be. Plus, Crystal laughing at my nail shape (That was done at their salon) was very disrespectful. It is a nail shape for and your attitude is unprofessional and uncalled for. Get over yourself. *and the self righteous old white lady can mind her business as she didn't know the full story and as the customer I need to be satisfied NOT you.

Aman, is great technician. She is very efficient and professional. She makes you feel very comfortable.

I go in regularly for a polish change on the toes and I realized today I have been overcharged for my last 4 visits. They have been charging me $25 for regular polish change. They didn't explain the cost to me at the time I was paying and didn't care to ask what I had done. My toe nails are cut slanted every time. I also over heard the person next to me complaining about the same issue and had to tell her to cut them straight. They tend to make me sit on the chair that has a broken foot rest for some reason even though other chairs are available, I have to tell them no. I would like an explanation from the owner about being over charged, and why they stopped explaining the cost of the services when you pay. They don't speak in English when communicating the price to whoever is accepting the payment so I feel scammed.

I have gotten a manicure here and have no complaints about it’s quality since it lasted pretty long and overall looked good after the service. However, I found it slightly unprofessional that every nail tech was talking in their own language and had a feeling that they were constantly discussing me behind my back since the nail technician was regularly pointing at my nails, laughing, and saying something to multiple other technicians. Now it could be just them discussing professional stuff, but I couldn’t help feeling like I am made fun of. I have talked to one of my friends that gets her nails done at the same salon and she had the exact same feeling. This review is not meant to bring any hate, but I just thought that spreading awareness about it would be nice.

Overall my experience was pleasant. I am always happy when Crystal does my nails. And the hot stone pedicure is so relaxing. Crystal did my friends nails and they look so pretty in pink ?
