★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The company rescheduled my appointment the day before. So I had to move my schedule around to have them come another day. The technician came in, informed me that the burner on my fire place was in poor condition and stop the service. Told me I need to replace my gas fireplace and handed me a bill for roughly 150$. I asked for a written copy and the tech got frustrated and had to go to his van to get paperwork. When he returned he asked to borrow a pen and asked me to fill out the part of the inspection for because he didn't have my information. I asked for him to write hod gad contractor number on the bi and he became rude. I would hope this is not the norm, but I would certainly not use any off their services in the future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I called Kirkstone to service my gas fireplace as the pilot light had gone out. The technician took about a minute to decide that all the components needed replacing because the unit was old. He said it would cost about $1,600 to $1,700. Certainly way more than I expected. He also said that to replace the fireplace would cost about $10,000.
I was very leery about getting taken advantage of, ie overcharged or upsold by having services rendered that were not really necessary. But in the end I agreed to the work being done.
The work was done quickly and efficiently, I can't complain about that. The fireplace now works just fine. But the bill in the end came to $2,142. Quite a bit more than his initial estimate of $1,600 to $1,700. So the repairs were done, but I'm still not sure that I wasn't overcharged.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I booked a fireplace inspection and repair under the assumption that the $200 fee would be applied to any parts/repairs. It would not, only a scant $50 would apply. So I got charged $200 for a guy to come and work on my fireplace for about 45 minutes and tell me a further $900 repair and parts would be needed. Turns out the mark up on the parts was significant, but I couldn't stomach spending more to fix it after getting bilked like that.

He also gave me advice as to where best to place my carbon monoxide monitor so as to protect me and my family which I really appreciate.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Inspection of our gas fireplace that was making a new rattling noise… the technician was professional and on time - he was able to explain the issue and also recommended the right course of action (which was not to do an costly part add on). Very trustworthy team and we have used them multiple times now for regular annual inspections.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I contacted Kirkstone via their website in December 2021 and made an online appointment for a technician to come and repair our Napoleon fireplace door - the gasket needed to be replaced and the special glass put in that we had precut to specification, followed by a general service.
Although there were some delays with Covid and ordering of supplies, I am happy to report that the job has been beautifully done, and that I am content with the outcome.
I have appreciated the online text messaging service, as well as follow up calls from the office. All in all, I am a satisfied customer as Kirkstone completed a task that I could not get other companies to work on as others preferred to do "whole unit" repairs which would have cost a lot more. Thank you, Kirkstone!
