★ ★ ★ ★ ★ R&B installed 2 new sump pump with new wiring on March 21st 2019. It has only been about 19 months and the sump pump is not functioning properly. I was told that 2x 4/10hp Myer sump pump will be powerful enough. I was informed that there shouldn't be any issue for at least 2 years yet high level water alarm is on and water level doesn't seem to drop at all. It's been 12 hour since the alarm has triggered for the first time .
Manufacturer warranty I believe is one year.
I spent 2.5k and the product doesn't even last 19 months. Not a pleasant experience. It literally lasted one winter.
Worst part of this experience is that I can't get hold of anyone during the weekends. They don't have emergency line. So either I have to contact some other company or wait until Monday to talk to someone from R&B Plumbing.
What kind of plumbing company doesn't have an emergency line?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ R&B Plumbing has been performing plumbing work for my company, Sprucehill Contracting, on and off for the past 8 years. The quality of the work they do has never been an issue.
To be honest, we did have some differences of opinion on scheduling a few years back. That said, we recently used them on a whole home install as well as some maintenance work for various customers. I can say that they have NAILED the scheduling piece now.
I have zero hesitation leaving a 5 star review for R&B now. Rob, Michelle, and Sally with the help of Malcolm and the rest of the team have really got things dialed in.
If you hire them, you can rest assured that you will receive excellent quality work (or better) and that they will stand behind their work if you have an issue with it.
Keep up the great work you guys! Thanks for making it easy to choose you as one of our plumbing/heating/air conditioning contractors.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You can tell a professional company by the way they deal with clients on the phone. The receptionist asked detailed questions about our plumbing problem in addition to a series of Covid19-related questions to ensure the safety of their staff and the home owner. I was VERY impressed with the service. R&B came the next day on schedule and fixed the blockage within the minimum chargeable timeframe. The young plumber was very competent and friendly and walked us through the solution to our blockage which we've had no issues with since. Overall a very pleasant experience in these complicated times!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The installation of a dual fuel heating system (with air conditioning) in our single family home was very professional, the technicians were very courteous and polite, and also very capable. They had an apprentice with them and they took time to carefully explain what they were doing which was quite reassuring, a bit like a doctor having a student tagging along. We are happy with our new system and looking forward to the winter, and then the summer! And also to getting the Provincial and Federal rebates.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were very pleased with R&B right from the initial phone call that I made to them. I received their name as a recommended vendor from our Strata. They booked a free estimate appointment and provided detailed quotes on three different products on time. They were prepared to answer any questions we had in a timely manner. As our furnace was not working, we asked for portable heaters to get us through until the installation of the furnace. They provided us with four heaters to keep us warm for about 2 weeks. On both days of installation, the installers arrived on time, were very efficient and kept the work area clean. They completed on time as promised. Overall, I have no hesitation, in giving R&B an excellent rating - they were professional, courteous and are great at what they do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, NOT RELIABLE, NOT TRUST ABLE
I hired this company to fix my boiler. Boiler was still working but not functioning well. They told me some parts need to be changed, they put the pieces apart and they informed me they will come back with the pieces in couple of days and make the heater work. After 6 days passed, they didn't return me back. When I called them to get information, I learned that they haven't even contacted the supplier yet. I told them my house is cold, I don't have hot water, I can't clean my kitchen, do the dishes....I asked them the put old pieces back until new one arrives. Their answer was they cannot do that. Only after I called them to complain, they contacted their supplier and emailed me saying that it will take at least 10 more business days for parts to arrive. So it has been already a week and they are expecting me to live without hot water, in a freezing house for 2 more weeks. It is 4 Celsius outside!!!!! I don't recommend this company to anyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In November I approached 4 different plumbers for a new boiler and on demand water heating system and an air conditioner unit. I looked at split level and stand alone heat exchanger, Innova. I decided on the Innova and R&B was very competitive on both the boiler and the Innova unit. There were some delays due to the supply shortages but they kept me informed. The combi boiler work was artful, I have a new respect for plumbers the repiping they did is a piece of art. The staff were in my home for a total of 5 days, respectful, patient and hard working. One of the units they made a mistake with the planning and they needed scaffolding to get outside, no additional charges. We worked through that and the scheduling. Well done. Sally at the office submitted my rebate paper work for me and everything is working well. I recommended them to a friend and last I heard all is good. I see reviews where people are frustrated, supply issues are a real thing, it is hard to get many items at the moment. Staffing shortages are real, skilled staff are hard to find. R&B is going through this and I am a witness that they are trying to resolve the issues by bringing on trainees. Well done and thank you for the work.
