Stampede Hangover Brunch with Ryan Langlois

Stampede getting a little wild? Recover with brunch at the King Eddy and some chill, hangover-friendly acoustic tunes from barstool balladeer Ryan Langlois.

About Ryan Langlois

The barstool balladeer: a charming and mysterious legend recalling better days, better songs, in better bars. A figure cloaked in experience, masked in heartbreak and all-consuming empathy. This trope seeks hope and light over all else. In today’s imitative mass of simple melodies and bubblegum production – Ryan Langlois’ rock-ribbed growl and sometimes disarming honesty is an uncompromising breath of fresh air.

Anthemic in delivery, Langlois reflects an impassioned Springsteen-esque leader, but one with decidedly more gospel and soul influences than his predecessors. He plays a character in and of himself. Somehow tenuing the fantastic and unimaginable with the humble and sincere. His songwriting spans Roots, Country, and Americana influences; often flourishing a simple idea into complex nuance.

Great music, amazing friendly staff, and clean space. I was beyond shocked at how nice this place was given the outside being dated and at times frightening. I've lied in Calgary almost my entire adult life and never went here out of fear and rumors. I am so glad that I did and will definitely be going back! The hummus platter was delicious!

Great experience there. Went for weekend brunch with live music. Music was great. Service excellent: very welcoming & attentive. They were on the ball when it comes to service. Food was great with accomodation to offer vegan option. Look forward to coming back. The building was an amazing renovated historical building

A super awesome venue! Great music, a wonderful museum of Canadian music and history, plus they run some really good events. Ever been to adults night? There's alcohol + other fun stuff. Highly recommend a visit to Studio Bell / National Music Centre!

Love the venue! Some wonderful artists here, and it's always hard to believe that I am sitting right beside the iconic Rolling Stones Mobile Studio. The service is excellent, and the staff are super friendly and attentive. I had the veggie platter last time we were there. The chips were excellent, and the hummus tasted great, but it was watery and kept dripping on the table. The celery sticks were good, but the carrots were mealy and didn't taste fresh. Other than that, the Eddy has always been a great experience, and I wish I could give it another half or three quarters of a star.

An amazing atmosphere that offers live music with tasty food. The staff is attentive the moment you're seated - bringing you water immediately. Seating was spaced out well.

The atmosphere and history of this place is incredible. We had brunch there on Sunday and the place was pretty full with two musicians that had the crowd laughing and clapping along. My wife went for the French toast which was a huge portion and really good while I opted for the King Eddy burger which was also really tasty. It was really cool to see how Studio Bell - The National Music Centre rebuilt the King Eddy and incorporated it along with the buildings history into a modern landmark of Calgary. Being able to see the Rolling Stone mobile recording studio and take in all exhibits next door made the visit worth while.
