Welcome to Vivace! I’m Ms. Joanne, a passionate music educator with over 10 years of experience. Even after a decade of teaching, my love for it has only grown and I can’t imagine myself being in any other career. Nothing fulfills me more than being able to share my love of music and to bridge the gap to those who wants to learn to play piano. This is a very special experience for me as there are 7 billion people on this planet and it’s truly incredible that we have started this unique journey together. To me, my students are much more than just my pupils….they inspire me to work harder and become better, a better teacher and a better role model. I will always be a friend who is there to help, support and encourage my students to the fullest extent of my ability. My dream is to be able offer lessons to everyone such that they an also experience the tremendous benefits music has to offer in their lives. I look forward to potentially meeting all all of you one day.

It's amazing how fast my son is progressing and stays very motivated every day. My son is always very comfortable talking about his interests and asking questions. I recently started taking classes with her and her team. Although I didn't know anything about music, I can now play songs that I thought would take years to learn. I'm just in love. I am so grateful for their patience and dedication they show in each class.

When my daughter joined Vivace Music, her piano was just soso. The teacher in Vivace music was so patient there, inspired her a lot, built a very good relationship with my daughter and helped her pass grade 8. My daughter gained so much confidence in piano since after and enjoyed it now. I definitely would recommend Vivace Music as the best learning Piano place in Calgary!

She makes music lessons fun by letting the kids choose songs they like, having incentives, and organizing multiple virtual recitals throughout the year. She is very cheerful, engaging, and positive during lessons. Joanne always provides positive feedback as well as giving her small attainable goals for each lesson and song so she can continue to improve.

But for my surprise, with the end of the first CLASS, my daughter was already playing 5 songs! It was unbelievable! And from week to week she just went on improving and improving and feeling more passioned about music and piano! The school has a method of rewards for practicing in which really engages student! So it’s not uncommon to see my daughter practicing piano all by herself on her own will! And the more she practices, more confident she gets and more she gets into piano!! I see her playing two months only away from the beginning of the classes and I am truly impressed with the school methodology! mrs joanne is a dear and truly gets kids all ages to feel the music in their heart!

The virtual format allows the lessons to easily fit into our busy schedule and she hasn’t needed to miss classes due to have a runny nose or Covid protocols. Joanne is such a kind and supportive teacher who really cares about students' interests. She is always open to finding out what music my daughter listens to so she can learn to play some of the same songs. Joanne is really great about supporting each family's needs. Vivace offers recitals families who prefer the performance aspect. We're more laid back and just wanting our daughter to follow her passion. Joanne has accommodated that by encouraging her play by ear while still learning & playing sheet music as well.
