Sandwiched between *Harbor Optometry, and a 2% something cafe.
This place accepts UVic student healthcare, so it doesn't cost anything more than the arm and leg you already paid for your tuition! May as well go here instead of somewhere else lol.
Staff are kind, and help you out with fitting. They apparently have a lab in the back, so creating glasses and lenses takes days instead of weeks (as in shipping in from another location)!

โ โ โ โ โ Best service from Hayley, young lady employee and the Korean boss. Affordable price with good deal of discount for students. I am satified with my shopping there for a good shape, light and uv block glass. Appreciated the santinizing process as well. Highly recommend!

โ โ โ โ โ These guys are awesome! They are a family business that really cares about their customers. The lady found the perfect frame for me: super light, and looks great. When it came to the lens, she advised me regarding all the advantages / disadvantages of all the many options. But the best part came in the after-sales support: it turned out that progressive lenses simply did not work for me. Yet I thought I needed them. So, I went there half a dozen times, having changed my mind once again. And every time, the optician worked with me patiently. I now have exactly the right lens in the perfect frame. Thank You!!

โ โ โ โ โ Excellent, quick, and hassle free service. Also works with Blue Cross health insurance used by UVic students, so UVSS members don't need to file a claim separately. I was able to get the glasses within a few days once I've picked my frame. My friend works there and she is an awesome person, same with her friends/colleagues that work there. Highly recommend!

โ โ โ โ โ Recently learned that I needed glasses to improve my vision, and that UVic students receive a great deal at Hudson Optical, so I decided to choose them as my first optical experience - I wasnโt disappointed. The customer service was amongst the best Iโve ever had the pleasure of encountering. A lovely young lady with the beautiful smile named Hayley helped me choose from their abundant selection of glasses and answered all my questions. They were very patient and caring and the entire process was seamlessly exceptional. I would highly recommend going to Hudson Optical for your eye-wear needs and I will be going there from now on.

This was my first pair of glasses and the people at Hudson Optical were really kind. Many thanks to David and the rest of the staff!
They are professional, and I never felt rushed or pressured into any choices. They gave you plenty of space to try on glasses, but were nearby if you needed a second opinion or had any questions.
The process was really clear- insurance/what was covered/and what your best options were. They have a great frame selection as well.
Highly recommend, and they have made a loyal customer.
