Spoke to a Janet to who was super knowledgeable in her products, friendly, and has excellent patience (i had lots of questions on knives, new to cooking). Went in-store to pick up my first shun knife and Janet was super helpful and a pleasure to deal with!

She recommended the right product that suit my needs and answered all my questions in detail. In addition, the two knives that I left for sharpening came back in great shape. I am very proud to know that this is an 100% Canadian owned company. They have good price and excellent customer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I live downtown Vancouver, and had seen a pair of Wustof pull apart kitchen shears online and on Amazon (House of Knives listed as the seller). I would rather support local bricks and mortar, so phoned the Metrotown location this morning. Staff told me the product was in stock and implied that there were several. I said that I would come by the same day to purchase. No offer was given to put the product on hold, so I wasn't aware that was an option. I arrived in the afternoon of the same day and all had been sold. Staff told me that I should have placed the item on hold. I am really unimpressed that I came all the way to Burnaby (I'm partially disabled so it's not easy for me r me to go far) and they not only had sold them all, but told me after the fact about the hold option. I will not shop here again. Indifferent staff like this are driving people away from local bricks and mortar. I guess Bezos will get more of my money!

Being the indecisive customer that I am, I asked a number of questions and even returned one purchase in the morning (due to deciding on another knife) before promptly returning that same purchase for yet another knife choice later that day. In all of these cases, Eric's customer service sense was absolutely stellar. I will be buying from this specific House of Knives store for all of my knife-related needs in the future as a result of the excellent customer experience I received from Eric's help and assistance.
