K	K AJF on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Scott runs a great business and is a true professional and skilled tradesman in the craft of blade sharpening. My knives were not dull when I gave them to him as I tune and do some sharpening myself. I gave him three German steel kitchen knives, a Japanese steel chef knife, a camp/hunting knife and my son’s great uncle’s heirloom scout knife of a very hard carbon steel to sharpen. Each had specific geometries re-edge requests and certain blade, heel or point damage and use issues to fix. The final products were edges sharper then new that literally glinted in the sunlight. As a side note Scott is also a very personable guy who enjoys and takes pride in his craft. An old chef, when I was 10, once told me you’ll only cut yourself with a dull knife because it slips off what it was cutting.

Not only is this kind of personalized face to face business very rare in Vancouver, but it was also well worth my time, and hard earned money. As a person who takes transit, and works multiple jobs, it was also more efficient than sourcing a sharpener, transporting my knives, dropping them off, (being without them for a couple days), or waiting in the shop. My Shun Reserve Chef's Knife Damascus SG2 Blade, had a pretty significant section that had broken off at the tip. I wasn't even aware that you could remedy this injury and was only looking for sharpening, but when he saw the issue and said, "I can fix this!" I was thrilled. My other admiration goes out to my grandmothers serrated bread knife. I had banked on the fact that it would be dull, but "well loved" forever, but he fixed it up, and it's probably as sharp as it was originally when she got it. Thank you for keeping my treasures safe, and restoring them to the state that they were meant to be used in. Scott was professional, informative, and friendly. I will be using his services again in a couple months, and I recommend this uncommon experience to anyone who loves their knives.

He also took the time to explain how to properly maintain our knives so we get the longest usage out of them. I honestly was unsure and skeptical whether it would be worth it but It was the best decision. Highly recommend SharpenUp!!!

I was so happy to have sharp knives again and it didn't matter the quality, age or type of knife, every single knife was able to cut thru paper like a hot knife cutting thru butter. Scott also showed us how to properly keep them sharp. I'm super excited to use all my knives again. Thanks a bunch Scott, will be making recommendations to all of our neighbours.

My kitchen knives, especially, are sharper than when new and are a dream to use. Scott is conscientious, cheerful, respectful, knowledgeable, and quick. I highly recommend him!
