Hertz customer service is a joke. They have cut staff and struggle with operations. They can’t give a customer a receipt upon a rental return. They bill for tolls and then cannot supply a copy of the invoice. Makes it pretty hard to expense these charges when you don’t get copies. Hertz needs to step it up or close the doors for good. Treating customers this way is not good for business. I’ve been loyal to Hertz for decades but this now has me searching for another rental company.

Not the best experience. Car that I booked wasn't available and I was not notified in advance like they said they did. The counter staff just tried to fob me off and say oh we have such and such car available is that OK? Of course I complained and said this is not what was booked and had to ask for some compensation. I then received only a hundred dollars discount over 8 days booking for the priveledge of having a lesser car. The car that was provided was fine but not what I booked.

Hertz Customer service at Toronto Pearson International Airport is the best I had in North America ( Canada ) since almost 3 years. Great communication and fast service. The cars are clean from outside and inside. Friendly people. I had a problem with a car and they managed quickly with the manager on duty and got me a new great replacement car in 5 mins. In the past, I had very bad experience with Hertz but in this branch, they show a good picture for the company.

Hertz car service is the most non professional car service ever experienced. I have rented cars at all major airports around the world but this one was at a different level. There’s no phone number to reach them and the one with automated voice sucks to the core! Imagine they have the audacity to announce that there will be β€œ5% call centre surcharge on your total rental bill”. The junk they provided me (Mazda CX5), the remote battery doesn’t work so it’s a mission to start the car and get in the car & if that’s not enough the car heating system doesn’t come into play until you’ve driven over 10km, & that too in Canadian weather which is usually negative -8-10. If Google had zero or negative stars for the overall experience I would have probably given that. Not recommended at all! Stay away from these guys.

I will share my experiences in parts. Pick up and Return. Pick up. November 4th. I booked the vehicle online and the price quite cheaper than the rivals. Honestly, I was an Enterprise Car Rental customer for years. I decided to try Hertz for my stay in Toronto. On arrival for pickup the customer service reminded me that my pick time was not due but he went ahead and gave me a vehicle without additional cost. What amazed and delighted me was the vehicle options I was asked to choose. I was expecting to have a full size car, which I booked, I was given the option of mid size SUV at no additional cost. Very happy about it. Vehicle Return was seamless and easy. But I had little problem when I arrived at the location because they opened 6:00am. I got to the location before 6am. I spent another 10 minutes waiting after they opened before I got checked out. Overall, this Hertz Rental Location is very good and I recommend this to anyone visiting Toronto.

Attempted to pick up a prepaid vehicle and was denied a vehicle because I don't have or own three photo pieces of identification. It is NOT even possible for me to own three photo IDs. Hertz Customer Service department by phone and on the website clearly states you only need a photo Identification (drivers license which I had) and a credit card in my name (which I also had three off including the one I prepaid with) plus I had Medicare care and passport. It still wasn't good enough because my Medicare doesn't have a photo (just like every other Medicare card from New Brunswick). The lot manager Ahmed should not be working there... He does not understand the simple pick up requirements. Also when I told him they will need to refund what I prepaid for the rental he told me it's not possible to prepay for vehicles... Obviously not true however the Hertz Customer Service Team has been very helpful with processing the refund. Regardless of your experience with Hertz anywhere else, I highly do NOT recommend this location as they are rude and inexperienced. Other reviews seem to say the same. You're better off renting elsewhere.

We enjoyed Hertz customer service and our little white Corolla on our short trip in Toronto. Clean, well maintained vehicle.

Hertz is a rip-off. If you want unprofessional, unreliable service, this is the place to go to. They charged me 3 extra days for a car that I returned a day late. The SUV that I got was not safe. I told them I was driving alone and needed a reliable car. I also needed GPS which was not included. Hence I got lost many times. I will never make the mistake of renting a car from this unscrupulous company again. And don’t even bother calling their customer service to ask about the overcharge items. They will waste more of your time to not avail. Shame on this company.
