Goa Hair Salon @ Koreatown

I don’t normally write reviews, however, I feel that my experience at Goa Beauty and Hair Salon deserves some publicity. Like many others, I was eager to get my haircut as soon as salons opened up in step-2. In all honesty, I was very nervous going in to the salon because of the mixed reviews I had read online. But now that I am looking back, I am so glad that I stuck to my gut. Immediately upon entering, the environment was lively and fully prepared with Covid-19 precautions making me feel both excited and safe. As a Korean, I was able to comfortably speak with the employees and further solidify my haircut plan. But even in situations where English was required, they never failed to engage in the conversation. However, I would still recommend that all non-Korean speakers come well prepared with pictures to show their hair stylist exactly what they want just in case! And just as a personal note, stand firm on the style you want but be open to the advice they give you for your hair! Had I not listened to some of the few ideas they gave, my hair would not look as good as it does now! My amazing and generously kind hair stylist, Lilly, guided me in my haircut and let me know what would work best with my face shape and hair type. In the end, she gave me the exact cut I wanted even though I struggled to find the words to even describe it. The reference photos I brought definitely helped! I personally like engaging in conversations and I was glad that Lilly was able to match my energy. But for those who prefer a quiet cut, which I noticed other customers also preferred, they will surely be able to make it an equally comfortable environment for you. Beyond my personal experience, the reason for my five stars is because of everything I observed indirectly. As I waited for my appointment, a gentleman, who seemed quite overwhelmed, came through the doors last minute and asked for a haircut. As you would expect, the store was full and completely busy. Even despite this, they offered the gentleman great hospitality and assisted him in the fastest and most professional manner. By squeezing him into the schedule, I believe one of the other customer’s appointment was shifted a bit back, however, the customer’s attitude was ever so generous. I guess it is those small genuine moments that make the difference, and in my case, make one’s experience even better. This small incident proved to me how great, not only the employees are, but the loyal customers. If you are looking for a safe, friendly, supportive, and happy hair cutting environment, I really recommend Goa Beauty and Hair Salon.

Have been going to GOA for 3 years and feel happy and satisfied with my experiences. I always go with Ruby, she is an amazing and professional hairstylist. This time I wanted to do some highlight with my hair, which means it needed to be bleached and took time to process it. My hair was a lot and since was my first time to bleach hair so it actually needed more session, she took her time and finished it until closed time. The result was totally what I expected and even more, I’m so OBSESSED with my hair color!! Ruby was very patient and responsible, I would 100% recommend her to everyone, my friends and family! Aside from that, the atmosphere and design of GOA make me comfortable, employees are friendly love this hair salon for sure!

I am absolutely in love with my hair. This is the best hair salon I've ever been to, all the staff were so friendly and were professional!! I have never felt this much happiness about my hair in my entire life until today... I asked for a specific type of hair colour to Seulbi, and she made my hair exactly the way I wanted. Key word: EXACTLY! ♡ Thank you everyone at Goa Salon, I will definitely be coming back. & I came all the way from Cambridge!

This was my first time visiting this salon! And I'm very satisfied with the result ??‍♀️ I've got straight perm and all staff were so professional and friendly, and the process was all seamless. My damaged curly hair turned into shiny straight hair! Def coming back again!

(Not a paid review) First and foremost I would like to start off this review with a compliment to my personal barber Aiden. I have only recently started coming here (around November 2021) but what I can say is that the service and quality that you get is phenomenal. I was surprised by the level of expertise and attention to detail. Definitely check this place out!!

I had a hair cut and hair perm yesterday! This was my second time coming back. I loved the style my hair stylist made, really professional. And the staffs are warm & nice. Made my day! Thank you so much!!! Will come back again! Good service :)
