I visited Hair Bank because I wanted to cut my hair for donation. I didn’t trust the other salons that I’d visited previously because of their poor English; I wanted to make sure that whoever was cutting my hair would understand that I needed a minimum of 8 inches cut and that it needed to be tied in a certain way. When I called to book my appointment, I spoke with Jay who spoke English fluently and assured me that he’d cut hair for donations before. When I arrived for my appointment, they had lockers where I could keep my belongings and I was given a key to the locker. I was also offered tea. I normally don’t pay much attention to the washing part and dislike massages, but the woman who washed my hair massaged my head afterward and relieved a lot of the tension. When it came to the hair cut, I showed Jay a few styles and asked for his opinion/advice. I’ve had bad experiences in the past with short hair so I wanted to make sure that my hair wouldn’t be thinned or turned into a bowl cut. He was very helpful and told me which styles would require more maintenance (I’m a very low maintenance person). He explained the process, explaining why he was cutting certain parts at certain lengths. Finally, he explained how to maintain my hair and how to properly blow dry and part. Apparently I’ve been parting my hair wrong but no other hair dresser has told me this. I paid a total of $35 before tip for a wash and cut, the average price of a cut in Koreatown. However, with his knowledge and expertise, I’d say it’s well worth the price. I plan to return for haircuts in the future.

It was my first time at Hair Bank and had a great experience! Jay, the owner, cut my hair and he took his time and I didn't feel rushed. The hair washing was also very nice and relaxing. He gave me some tips on how to style/blow-dry my hair which was greatly appreciated! I highly recommend giving Hair Bank a try!

Managed to get a last minute appointment! I've been trying to get a proper two block cut with my kind of hair (thick and wavy) and my last one ended up getting too thinned out. Jay did a great job with mine and would stop once in a while and have me put my glasses on so I could see what he was doing, and he'd explain what was being done and why. He also gave tips on how to manage my type of hair, so I appreciate it. I really like the cut, and I will def be back. Price is also really good.

I’ve been coming here for about a year now. Out of all the Korean hair salons I’ve been in Toronto they’ve always kept consistency in their skill and service. I’ve always been satisfied with the result; left with a great style, easy to take care of even months after. Unlike some of the other salons, stylists are very conscientious, they don’t push customers to get unecessairly things done, but rather be honest and put a focus on giving a professional suggestion. I highly recommend this place!!!

Hair Bank on bloor is an excellent salon to get your haircut because of the excellent customer service, professional cutting and styling skills, and its reasonable price. First of all, hair bank has excellent customer service. I was greeted as soon as I entered the salon and I felt very comfortable with the environment during the process of my haircut. Second of all, the stylists are indeed professional. I walked into the salon with long and thick hair that was not cut for about 4-5 months. I requested my stylist for a two block cut and showed her a picture as a reference, and I was satisfied with the outcome of my haircut. In addition to that, I acknowledge that it was difficult for my stylist to cut and style my hair because of my thick Asian hair, however she tried her best to give me the two block cut look and I was satisfied. A wash and shampoo is also included, stylists will massage your head while washing your hair. Third of all, hair bank's prices are reasonable and is worth to spend your money on for an excellent haircut. I have been to hair bank before and was satisfied with the experience, my second time at hair bank, which was today, was just as good as my first time with a different stylist. In conclusion, Hair Bank is good salon to get your haircut because of the excellent customer service, professional cutting and styling skills, and its reasonable price. Overall, I had a good experience.

Got a cut from Jay today, fresh fade and he gave me good advice on how to grow out my hair. For cutting Asian hair, Hair Bank really can’t be beat!

Hair Bank is FANTASTIC! Highly recommended. I went to several Korean hair salons in Toronto and so far Hair Bank has the best hair designers and most affordable price ($35 for woman's haircut, tax not included). Extremely knowledgable and friendly staff. Please tip them well!! Blessed to have a hair salon like this in downtown Toronto.

Joy did an amazing job to my hair. She spent a lot of time patiently discuss with me the style and color I want, and keep modifying her process along the way according to my hair texture. Very satisfied!
