Gary Moe Volkswagen

Usually I do not write reviews that do not result in five stars. However, this experience was one worth writing since I know I look at reviews before I choose where to service my car. I have been a customer of Gary Moe before this incident and my experiences were always good. So it saddens me to write this. I needed a part to be shipped in and with the advice from the service team member paid extra for a rush order, since I was promised it would be at the shop in under a week. This was great news since I was on a time limit. I gave them a call when it reached a week to see what the delay was only to be greeted with no call backs when I left messages inquiring. I tried to have patience since I know they could be busy et, however I needed to travel with functioning heat so waiting two days to get a call from anyone at the service team or the manager was frustrating. Thankfully, they finally gave me a call back and told me my part would not come in this week and they were not sure when it would be delivered or give an estimate due to the flooding in BC. I understand that this can set businesses back. However, when I contacted another VW in a neighbouring city to see if I could get the part ordered there I was pleased to know they could order it from Vancouver and have it in store overnight or from Toronto in 2 days (without it being a rush order). Now my heating has been fixed within two days but certainly not from Gary Moe VW. Thoroughly disappointed- however I am trying to be gracious.

I was referred to Tracey Gilbertson for advice, after dealing with some financial difficulties. Tracey was very friendly, right from the beginning. Beyond that, she was transparent, and made the process extremely easy and comfortable. Never once did I feel pressured or promised something that wasn’t realistic. Her communication was always timely and very clear. She really is amazing! This experience was the BEST I’ve had in the auto industry, and I’ve had a few cars already in my lifetime. Jaden, Phyllis and Craig were also very helpful. I would recommend Tracey and her team to EVERYONE!

Purchased a Golf R from Andrew Mah at Gary Moe Volkswagen. Everything was super smooth while we waited for the car to arrive. He kept me up to date with delivery, and even sent me photos of when it arrived. He answered all my questions in a timely manner, or as soon as he found the answer. Being from the Edmonton zone, I've had more successful purchases from Red Deer than Edmonton. I would drive to Red Deer again to purchase a vehicle from Andrew. I'm a first time VW owner, and I love everything this car has to offer. Thanks again Andrew, we will do business again!

Service department over charges and is very misleading. Oil change at Mr. Lube $140, compared to $226 at Volkswagen. Also they told me I could only purchase windshield wipers at the dealership and that I would not find them anywhere else. Dealership price $80... I found them at Canadian Tire for around $50. I love my car, but will not buy another Volkswagen so that I never have to go back to this service department again.

Very great experience here. Best car buying experience I could ask for. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. My wife and I picked up a new golf and it's been great. Would definitely buy again from here. If you are buying say our name! Great referral program too! Haha

Took my Volkswagen in to get some warranty work done on it. They called me the day before telling me they didn’t book me in early enough for the work to get done. Had to go in earlier, no problem! Got my vehicle back at the end of the day and didn’t think I needed to check under the hood, assumed everything was good. Got home and my vehicle was telling me I had no coolant. Popped my hood, bone dry coolant reservoir. I know it was full before I took it in so I thought this was odd. Got some coolant, filled it up. Within 15 min it had all leaked out again without my vehicle even running. Called Volkswagen to inform them of them situation, was basically told they couldn’t do anything for me. Argued with them over the phone and they then agreed to pay my tow bill to get it hauled from where I live (Rocky Mountain House) to their dealership. Called the tow company to make the arrangement, they then called the dealership to make sure it was going to be paid for… nope, they went back on their word and and informed the tow company that they never agreed to that/didn’t know what I was talking about. They also told me that if they couldn’t find the damage on my vehicle being from them, then they wouldn’t cover the cost of fixing it. I just thought it was odd how my vehicle was running perfect, with no coolant leak, before I took it in to them, I had it for a couple hours and boom, puking coolant everywhere. Coincidence?? They didn’t seem to interested in helping me out with this problem. Currently have no vehicle because of this ordeal! I won’t be taking my vehicle back to this Volkswagen again.

The team at Volkswagen have been nothing short but amazing! Crystyne was so knowledgeable and just so helpful. They put me right at ease and worked with me to find a price that worked for me. Everyone we met was friendly and so helpful. I love my new vehicle!

I didn't purchase my Volkswagen from them but I wish that I did. The service department has been very friendly and welcoming of me and my questions about my vehicle. I brought it in to be looked at my vehicle had recalls that needed to be done. They saw me short notice and I was still able to get a shuttle to work. Thank you so much Gary Moe Volkswagen I really appreciate the great experience! I will definitely be purchasing any new vehicles from here in the future.
