I went there at many occasions. Some of the times, depending on who is serving you, you get a good service, some other times, service is really bad and rude. The owner of the store saw that I was looking at bikes and came towards me to ask me questions. As soon as he saw an old couple looking to buy a more expensive bike (electric bike) he left me there and went towards them without saying anything. That was insulting. I no longer go there because of a few incidents being rude. Service fluctuates and my skate were not well sharpened last year and the skate I bought there were poor quality.

I have fond memories of Foster & Byles from my youth, went there on occasion to get bike accessories, it was a magic place. It saddens me that the service is not what it once was ... the guy who served me at the door was pretty rude and hopped over to the young woman behind because it took me more than 5 seconds (literally) to find the inner tube size I was looking for. My daughter and I waited patiently for a couple of minutes while he chatted with her, never came back to us so we left. Given that there are bicycle shops every few blocks downtown, I'd suggest passing this one over.

Store seems to have a lot of options to look into but found the service to be a bit poor/helicopter like. Visited to take a look into some tubes/chains and the older gentleman who let me in made me feel a bit uncomfortable and rushed me a bit. As a customer, before I buy something, I like to be able to make an informed decision and compare products in person which is the great thing about being able to shop in person. I said I would be fine looking at the options but he just stood right there and kept staring at me/hovering over me which I don't think is helpful. Overall, poor shopping experience and think this place would be better if you need service/repairs but not for general shopping. Edit: The business replied but I think they're confusing me for someone else? I visited about a month ago and they did have the tube/chain sizes I needed, I was looking at them in store and was the reason for my visit. I respect and also abide by all COVID measures, even wearing a mask when not mandatory as I am cautious about COVID and used sanitizer once entering the store. It was actually the employee who didn't conduct proper spacing as he was less than a meter from me while he was hovering. Would recommend the business take my review as a learning experience to provide better service to customers instead of deflecting. Poor management response.

I had been looking for a bike for a few weeks. Last time I was in at Foster's mid-June they explained the supply crunch and said to keep checking back in the coming weeks. Finally, last weekend I stopped by and there was a decent fit for me. I see some complaints in reviews on the owner Rami which I find odd as I appreciated his help. He even threw in a bell for my with my purchase. The fact there's two years of servicing thrown in on purchases is a nice bonus. I'll be back in the coming weeks to get a few more accessories. I encourage other folks looking for a bike to stop by Foster's, recognizing that all stores right now are facing a significant shortage of bikes.

Took my fat bike for a tune up. Picked it up, (it was brought up from the basement which was kind of weird) gears were shifting much worse than before. Called and asked for a refund. Guy on the phone (who I assume is the owner) said no refund but if I bring it back he’ll fix it while I wait. Took it back, somebody else ended up working on it (not the guy on the phone). Owner dropped in to check on the guy working on it but did absolutely nothing. It was better after that but still not what I expect after paying $60 plus tax. Bad customer service, I didn’t feel valued as a paying customer, they didn’t apologize for doing a bad job the first time and didn’t offer any discount. The place also gives off bad vibes, there was a random employee eating pizza in the store and came to check on the guy fixing my bike but also did nothing to help. Please take my word and avoid this place, there are many other bike shops to choose from especially in this area. I can tell from my experience and from other comments that the owner is just trying to make a profit off each customer and doesn’t actually CARE about providing good service. As you can tell from other comments, the owner will likely reply to this and say this never happened or something. But please take my word and avoid giving this place your business.

So helpful, friendly, and patient. Shopping with an indecisive teen can test the patience of a saint, but the staff just kept answering questions and pulling out different bikes and in the end we had our bike. The great thing with the inventory they have is the wide range of prices. Most of the bikes are higher quality than what you will find at CT, but they have lots of different models to look at that are under 1000. I totally recommend Foster's if you are looking for a good bike.

I have never been so disappointed with a service in my entire life. I paid $140.00 to have my bike tuned up and when I got my bike on the road the tires went flat within the hour - when I took my bike back to have them look at it they refused to help me or give me a refund. I spent $140.00 to have my bike fixed and now I cannot even ride it. Additionally, they initially quoted my dad $60 and when I went in to pick the bike up and pay, they charged me $140.00. I truly wish I took my bike elsewhere, do not have your bike serviced here. The owners are incredibly rude and I’ve honestly never experienced such poor customer service in my life ***** in response to the owners reply to my review: I had called the shop the day after I picked my bike up informing them that the tires were flat despite paying $140 for repairs - I did not use my bike for a week I was only able to bike it home and there I realized the tires are already flat. I understand that the tube is likely broken but what was the $140 charge for? Make sure you get an invoice stating the work that was done because frankly I could have bought NEW TIRES for the price they charge me. My bike was only $300 to buy and they charged me half what my bike is worth, yet I still cannot use my bike. Also please note they quoted my father $60 and charged me (young female) $140. I’ve never made a negative review in my life but this shop and it’s owners are egregious.

I had my back tire and gears stolen and went to Foster's because I had always had a great experience with their technicians in the past, for tune-ups and when I stopped by for a pump. I was given a quote for a new replacement, but when I arrived to pick up the bike. I was charged a different price. I did post a review here, and the owner took the time and care to reach out, speak to me and kindly apologized for the mix up and returned the amount! I greatly appreciated the honestly and humility, with great customer service. Will be back for my bike needs this summer!
