Not only can you learn karate here, but they have helped my child(ren) with coordination issues, built their confidence, and made us all feel like part of their family. Kids and Adults can train n traditional Go Ju Ryu karate, Hap Ki Jitsu and Kobudo. Dojo is equipped with padded mats, training equipment, sparring gear, and traditional weapons. GREAT place to start the martial arts journey.

Like what martial arts entail, this place is "proper". Through small and consistent steps, proper martial artists keep being made! They come into the dojo with proper working ethics and come out of the dojo with proper respect. The Renshi and Hanshi are strict yet approachable. Also, there are fun activities happening year round!

Want to make lifelong friends, and learn karate in a traditional, supportive way? Then join Fight Griffin. Not only are the sensei(instructors) caring but they also know their stuff. Tangibly you learn history, culture, and martial arts as well get a great physical regiment. Intangibly you learn perseverance, respect, commitment, and the value of hard work. If you join are are not just a number or face, you are family and the entire Fight Griffin family is what really sets it apart from the rest. Try it. You won’t regret it.
T	T. Roy on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Medium sized school focusing on traditional martial arts (based on goju-ryu karate-do). It also has a Hap Ki Jitsu program (more for adults with joint-lock, grappling & self defense). They incorporate principles from both to teach streetsmart self-defense skills to all ages I have trained in a few martial arts over the past 20 years and a member of at least 3 dojos. This one has the family atmosphere but definitely instills and promotes discipline both in and outside of the dojo. The school is well equipped with training, sparring and exercising equipment (kubodo: weapons). Both training floors are matted - great for rolls and falls. Definitely a spot for a beginner to get introduced to the martial arts and advanced enough for seasoned martial artists to sharpen their skills.

Stopped going only because I moved away from Milton, but wish very much I lived closer and could bring my kids when they are old enough. I toured a couple karate places before joining and fighting griffin was a clear choice for me.

The owners, Scott and Tammy Hogarth have dedicated their lives to martial arts (World Champion, Milton Sports Hall of Fame) and personally teach the kids. Tammy is amazing in teaching the kids. She gives specific instructions, correct them throughout the class, and helps them understand the thinking behind their actions. It’s authentic karate and I highly recommend Fighting Griffin Martial Arts to anyone looking for real training.
