Very happy with the support from EHS's team as I adopted a bonded pair. My questions were answered in prompt fashion and with a clear indication of knowledge. EHS has continued to stay in touch since the adoption. I am very happy I went through them for my cats.

I had volunteered with EHS in the past so I knew first hand how the organization worked and how much they cared for their animals. So when my wife and I decided to adopt a cat, we knew we needn't look further than EHS. We applied for a cat in April and went through the initial screening. There was another applicant ahead of us and they ended up getting the cat. We decided to wait instead of approaching any other shelter and a couple of weeks after that we came across Flake's profile on the website. We applied right away. Since we had been through the initial screening process, we were scheduled for a video call with the foster parent EHS supplied us with an exhaustive list of questions that we might ask to get to know Flake better. After the video call we decided we wished to go ahead with the adoption. We then had a final interview with EHS that lasted for almost an hour and a half. Finally our application was approved and we were able to welcome Flake to our family! All in all, it was an absolutely fantastic experience with EHS. The process was rather comprehensive and required us to provide a lot of information but that just goes to show that EHS really cares about finding the right home for every animal in their care

We were volunteer fosters at EHS and the amount of love and care each volunteer and person working at EHS was incredible to see. It was very easy to get started with EHS fostering and they provided plenty of support from the he community of volunteers. We ended up adopting the cat we fostered and the whole adoption process was very great even if all interviews and process were virtual.

When we tried to adopt a cat we contacted a number of different humane societies, rescues and groups. The Etobicoke Humane Society was the most responsive and the most helpful. They helped us through their process and truly worked to understand which cat would be the best fit for our family. I would highly recommend working with them for their speed and care in finding the right homes for the animals in their care.

I adopted Poppy in February and it’s hard to imagine living without her! She’s the sweetest~ The volunteers were very straightforward with her medical past and very helpful/knowledgeable while discussing her case before adopting her to me. It was a long process, but I think it’s wonderful that they take the time to know that their cats are going to good homes. I highly recommend them! They do great work and the volunteers are all very passionate about their cats <3

My husband and I adopted to beautiful kittens (Shiloh and Zahara) from EHS, and from the start of the whole application process until being able to take our babies home, it was easy. Everyone was so kind, answered so many questions, they were very clear from the beginning what the process was like and what to expect. I got to work with our kitties foster mom and she was so wonderful. Honestly our experience was amazing. Our babies are amazing. We couldn’t be happier!

We had an excellent experience with EHS. Starting from the beginning when we filled out the inquiry form, it took us about one and a half hours to finish. I think that is very responsible for the shelter to go through all of that, and giving people a second chance to think through their situation before welcoming a new life into the family. Originally we inquired for another cutie cat, but during our initial phone call, we were told that the one may not be a good fit for us if we are thinking of having a children, and they will evaluate and discuss among the team. We understand that is good for both our family and the cat, so we started to look for another potential fit. And we found Tommy! He's super adorable and luckily we passed initial evaluation! We got to connect with his foster family, and had a call to learn more about him. EHS prepared us with a two-page long potential questions to ask to learn about our to-be-adopted. After the 30 - 45min video call, we still love him! EHS provided his past medical history to us, and there comes the last video call. The final screening gives us more idea about how to interact and welcome a new member to our family, and the 1.5hr call successfully got us our first ever owned pet! The entire experience really tells us that EHS care about the pets, and they are strict with things so that they are really finding a forever home for the pets. Whenever we got questions, we always got a reply within 2 days. Now Tommy is with us for two weeks, EHS sent us a follow-up for updates. Really nice, responsible, supportive, informative and loving society!

I am currently fostering a senior cat with them. My application process was pretty quick and very thorough. It has been 5 months now. This shelter is very organised and very clean. They have a very smooth system. It was my first fostering experience and they made things super easy. All the volunteers are extremely pleasant to deal with.
