Elmwood Car Sales - Edmonton

I have mixed feelings from my experience here. The approval process was super easy and fast and my sales guy was nice and so was the female manager; however, it took 3.5 weeks to get a car. I was originally told it was in grande Prairie and that it would take 5-7 business days but needed an OP inspection. Only to find out two weeks later that it was actually coming from a dealership in Richmond BC called clutch. Than took almost another week on top of the 5-7 business days. I also said I needed a loaner car as now I’m needing to wait weeks for my car and I have a job to get too and they tried to give me an older hatchback car that was on a donut tire and not safe to put my toddler into. When I addressed that to the male manager at a further date he said “are you really complaining about a free car right now?” “You’re just being picky”. Than when I got my documents, myself and legal authorities went over them, no where did my documents say I was suppose to pay a down payment. My sales guy asked if I had to can I and I said “I can maybe do $1000”. No where did he say afterwards “ok got you a car with the $1000 down” Only to find out he told my best friend that I was paying $1000 even though there isn’t a single piece of paper trail stating where the $1000 was going. I was told it was so they can alter the price of the car I’m buying where they told my best friend for her sale, it was towards the negative equity. It’s no where on my contract or any of my documents. From stories that I’ve been told, the $1000 is being pocketed into the sales guys pocket or the dealerships. When I said I’m not paying it as there is no proof, the make manager threatened to cancel the deal on me.

By far the best car buying experience I have had. These guys went out of there way to find me a vehicle that not only met all my expectations but was affordable as well . I went through a few dealerships trying to finance a vehicle after my separation, I wasn’t getting any approvals anywhere. I needed to start somewhere. I thought it would never happen where I can start working on my credit. And Barry and Karen made it happen.
