I LOVE this bike shop! Good quality bikes and even better service, all in a historic Saskatoon building. Purchased four bikes from there for my family and I keep going back for service.

I took my bike in with a flat rear tire and wanted my front brake pads replaced as they were worn. When I picked up my bike I had a tune up which I hadn’t requested and my rear brake pads were replaced (which I also hadn’t request). I paid for the tune up (extra $60) and decided I would not take my bike back there again. Three days later my rear tire was flat again so I brought it back to have it repaired. This time I mentioned how the front brake pads weren’t replaced like I’d asked, and the tune up wasn’t requested. The repair tech insisted the rear brakes needed to have been changed. (I had my bike in last summer and my front brakes were in worse shape than my rear brakes then) Another tech interjected ranting about the brakes, my flat tire and all the different things I could have run over, in a very condescending manner. I brought my bike in for two specific reasons and only one was done (not very well). During the second visit for the flat tire I was told they found a very little piece of wire. The rear tire was repaired (under warranty). My worn front brakes were moved to the rear tire. The recently replaced rear brakes were moved to my front tire. ??? I will not be returning to Doug’s.

Jay and the crew at Doug’s S/S have been taking awesome care of mine and my family’s skiing and snowboarding for years now and the service has always been great. I was going in to buy a third pair of FULL TILT boots for my son in 3 years ??‍♂️ . One of the young guys (Kelly) spent the time with us to figure out that it wasnt’t bigger boots that were needed, but heel risers in the boots. Who knew these existed?? So it cost me $13.95 as opposed to $400. The customer service is always top notch. Thanks Doug’s

Helful advice when buying clipless pedals with shoes. Had a good selection of pedels and shoes at different price ranges.

Love this shop, super helpful, honest, with amazing service for reasonable prices. Stopped in a couple weeks ago with 2 bikes one needed the brake adjusted. They were very busy and the tech noticed it just needed a 5 minute tweak and fixed it on the spot... no charge. I am officially shop loyal now. Keep doing what your doing.

Took in for annual tuneup. My right brake handle had been bent backward from moving here from the states. I asked them to see if they could bend it back - the brake and suspension worked perfectly. I just wanted it fixed for aesthetic purposes. The bike is a year old. Instead they went ahead and replaced the shifts and brakes - - without informing me ahead of time - what service center does that?!?!?! they attributed this to misreading the notes when I brought the bike in. I was pretty ticked - but what put me over the edge was the mechanic who did the work starts yelling at me from the back. I finally told him I wasn’t going to argue with him but that I’m upset that they did work on my bike before Informing me ahead of time. The mechanic then goes and gets my broken handle and slams it on the counter and storms off. The front counter guy was totally cool and I appreciated his efforts in diffusing the situation. They didn’t charge me for labor and took 15% off the new part they installed. But I still paid $50 for parts I didn’t want. I had already decided to not go back there. They told me a tuneup would take a week. I didn’t get a call after a week. When I called THEM - they said it was scheduled for the next day. It ended up being 2 days for them to work on the bike. And they did not call me - although they noted on the receipt that they did. It took them 10 days to get to my bike. I appreciate that this shop is quite busy and things can be Miscommunicated but: 1. You shouldn’t do work on a vehicle unless the owner has clearly communicated so. 2. Don’t yell and argue with the owner when he is surprised you did unauthorized work on his vehicle. 3. Keep to promised timelines for service and call your customers when the work is finished.
