This little grocery store is a neighbourhood stable! The owner is an awesome guy and his prices are fair. Don't try picking up a five finger discount, it's a jerk move and he WILL catch you and make you famous.

Chinsy. Charged a bank fee right under my nose, no signs, nothing. They don’t ask if you want a receipt up front. When I asked for a receipt they gave me the itemized copy which doesn’t include the fee (not the one from the card machine). Like buddy, I’m gonna find out from my bank statement anyway. Fruit and veggies aren’t even fresh. I just wanted to give a local grocer the benefit of the doubt but almost every other business on this strip do it more honestly.

Great grocery store, one of my favorites in the city. Good selection of organic and not. They stock a good selection of Avalon dairy products, which I love. Competitive produce prices. They also make an effort to use/sell produce that's ugly or a bit past its prime, for example, by cutting out the bad parts and putting the good parts into smoothies. I dock them a star because sometimes they take this a bit too far in my opinion - selling stuff that's well past expiry date at a discount. I've also found some bugs in their bulk nuts so don't but those there anymore.

Rotten produce! I'd say 60% of their inventory of fresh produce is either rotten, or bruised. There is a minimum charge for debit or visa, which is common for small stores like this, there is a small sign but hard to see so always ask if unsure. This is to help with overage charges most large store can absorb. Nice staff they seemed to go outside and rotate the rotten stuff to the back of the crates. Hard to support a local store when the selection is literally rotting, likely won't come back here again. Or recommend it.

They sell expired products, and they don't want to take them back! In a lot of products you don't even find the expired dates.... Too bad that they have gone this route.

Rude and dishonest. Not once acknowledged a greeting. Gave it a last chance today because I want to support local business and one up the street has closed, no more though. That's three times in a row being overcharged at least 30%, after being made to feel like you're intruding. There are struggling businesses around deserving of support. This isn't one. Milk - 2.00 Bread - 2.99 Bacon - 6.99 Candy - 1.50 Cheese - 3.47 (expiry 8 days ago) Total charged: $26.15

ALWAYS ask for and check your receipt at this store. The older gentleman who works here full time (possibly the owner) manually inputs the cost of items into the register and WILL overcharge you for at least one item. My husband and I (reluctantly) shop here from time to time because it’s a couple blocks from our apt and sells β€œrare” Mexican products. This overcharge has happened more times than we can count, and sometimes is a matter of $1-2, sometimes more (I am not referring to the bank charges that others have complained about in reviews). This time I have a pic of the item and receipt. 30 count tortilla but charged for 60 count. I can’t imagine how much they are stealing off of customers in one day.
