Worst experience ever. Would not recommend. The staff was nothing but rude. We started looking for suits in September 2019. Made an appointment and headed in. We originally dealt with Avery who was so scatterbrained. She left us in the fitting area. Forgot to bring different suit sizes and when we decided to just leave she told us next time to book an appointment even though we did and she was the one that checked us in. A few months later we went back and dealt with Min who honestly is the only person I would recommend dealing with. He got us all set up, helped my husband find a suit and all was perfect. Once Covid hit we postponed our original plans and reached out immediately. Again dealing with Avery who forgot to change our date and we had to call back several times to confirm. Closer to our new date we went in to confirm everything. Derks lost our groomsmen’s deposits and sizes that were called in. And I was met with rude remarks from an older lady working there who basically told me that they didn’t call in and that I was lying even though we had payment proof from the groomsmen. She was so rude to me I left in tears out of frustration. One of my groomsmen called in an updated size and she had also stated on the phone with him β€œwow, you sure got big”. We were called the Tuesday before our wedding saying everything was ready for pick up, but when we went into pick up our suits they were not ready. The day of the wedding the sizing was all wrong and half the suits were missing cufflinks, and one of the shoes were damaged and looked like garbage. It was overall a dumpster fire and I would not recommend Derks to anyone looking at renting suits. The customer service was appalling. We would have cancelled but they were refusing refunds which given the circumstances was unacceptable. ***As a business who’s primary focus is creating an experience they sure did a terrible job at that. Buyer beware.

Overall bad experience and bad customer service. Suits were dirty when we picked them up. My vest had a stain, groom had a stain on his pants, another groomsman suit was too short in the arms, and anothers pants too long and baggy. The selection of suits to rent is almost embarrassing. They have a very small section of available rentals on display right when you walk in, and when asking about styles/colors/vests/shirt color the staff were very unhelpful and didn't seem to want us in the store. The Staff is very rude to deal with. When returning suits one of the groomsmans pocket cards was missing. After spending over a thousand dollars at derks as a group, they threatened our group with sending collections after us because he lost the 5 dollar pocket card. After we offered to pay for the lost pocket card in full. Very rude on the phone and unwilling to help my fellow groomsmen come to solution. Threatening customers with legal actions over a MINISCULE thing like a pocket card missing is insane. All of the suits were in perfect condition except for one small handkerchief.. This is not how you treat customers you value. Especially when there are WAY higher end suit rentals with more selection and helpful friendly staff elsewhere... I will not be back, and I know you've now also lost multiple parties of potential clients. Over a pocket card, a 5 dollar handkerchief... and I will be steering everyone i know away from derks. After an amazing day and night, having to deal with jerks at derks the next day is not something we should have to do. Its crazy how far this store has fallen since they moved from their old location. I've personally been to derks for multiple weddings and graduations and it was decent before.. I dont expect it will be open much longer seeing their selection and how they treat their customers. A few dollar pocket card missing is not worth the headache the next morning after a wedding.

Excellent experience. Had a great selection of outfits and ties amongst other attire. Can custom order ties which is what I was shopping for. Dan and Sterling were extremely helpful and knowledgable about formal wear and helped me decide what would go well with my suit. Showroom floor is decorated nicely with good lighting for when you try stuff on.

Dean helped me over the phone and was fantastic! Very professional and courteous. He made the experience enjoyable and answered all questions with confidence and good humour. He even called me back when he said he would! I'd definitely recommend Dean at the west location!

The guy working there was very rude to my pregnant wife when she was picking up my suit. They are also not open on Sunday which was frustrating as I couldn't drop my suit off after a wedding. As I live out of town I had to pay $20 a day due to the fact that I didn't want to take a day off during the week to make a run into the city.

We needed a rush suite for a wedding. They had no suites available to purchase in the size we needed so we opted to rent. We did the fitting and she took all the measurements. When we had our second fitting two days before the wedding, the pants were about 3 sizes too big. So we had to come back the next to get the suite. The second time the pants were short and looked like flood pants. The solution by the worker was β€œjust don’t wear suspenders”. Wasn’t impressed that they charge a rush fee and then screw up several times and then expect that to be okay. Rush fees are acceptable if the order is completed properly. If it wasn’t such short notice I would have went elsewhere for the suite after the second fitting and got my money back.

Had an appointment here for my nephew to try on tuxedos for his grade 12 grad. The sales guy(I think his name was Dean) was running a bit behind so we started looking at the rentals and different styles. Once we chose some my nephew started trying them on. Dean was great at adjusting and making sure everything fit how it’s supposed to. My sister and I asked a lot of questions and he never made us feel like we were being annoying. Other customers came in and even though he was running behind he didn’t rush us or make us feel like we had a time limit. My sister had been to another suit place and she said this experience was 100% better. I would recommend Derks to anyone looking for rentals.
