โ โ โ โ โ Darumaya is a great Japanese Grocery Store. They have all the essentials. You can get lots of snacks, condiments, seasonings, and even Wagyu Beef. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

โ โ โ โ โ It's at a convenient location. I found that the selection is narrower and most of their pricing is just a little higher than average. However, the staff are very polite and some products are always on sale. They always have/offer free samples as well! I also like the way they display snacks. They put matcha goods together and chocolate goods are in their own section. They also attach a card of discription and how to cook in English to most of their products. How nice they are :)
Until today... The employees weren't nice at all when the owner wasn't around. I talked to my Japanese friends about it and they had the same experience. I won't go back.

โ โ โ โ โ Always been a huge fan of this place. They have everything Japanese from snacks you'll never see at your usual grocery stores to fresh sashimi cuts. They even have meat selections like wagyu beef featuring both sirloin and ribeye cuts. The Japanese beef selections range from A3, A4 and A5 grades.
The meats are prepackages in different cuts and come in all sizes. You can get the thinly sliced or in steak form. Mind you though, some of these prices go upwards of $1500 for the more premium cuts.

Perfect grocery shop that offers a wide selection of authentic Japanese good.
The sashimi quality is always above the par and the freshly grated wasabi is a must try!
Very bless to have such good shop in town

โ โ โ โ โ Love this Japanese market! They carry a lot of items that are not carried in other Japanese markets in the lower mainland. Good store for finding sweets and snacks of your fancy. Customer service is really good. Very much of an immersive experience of whatโs itโs like to shop in Japan. Highly recommended

โ โ โ โ โ Small shop but a great selection of Japanese ingredients. They carry snacks, cold food, frozen food, sushi and Wagyu beef. Great place to stock on pantry essentials if you want to explore Japanese cuisine. Staff is always helpful and kind as well.

โ โ โ โ โ This little unassuming Japanese snack shop inside the Walmart plaza has a front section (upper right hand corner near the entrance) where they sell Japanese wagyu beef! They also sell real Japanese Kobe beef that is registered and one of the few places in Western Canada that is licensed/registered for this. They have so many grades of wagyu, each on a tray. The only problem is their beef is more expensive than other Wagyu places. I think you pay more to know that itโs guaranteed from Japan. I do feel that A3 and A4 were just as comparable if not preferred over A5 (which dripped of beef fat lol).
In addition to Wagyu beef, they also sell fresh sashimi. One time I also saw Hokkaido scallops and different grades of blue fin tuna from Otoro to Chutoro. All delicious!
