what a terrible service attitude! No "hello", No "welcome", no "smiling". The waitresses don’t even want to have any conversation with the customers! When I asked a waitress to give me some soy sauce, she put the soy sauce dish unkindly, the sauce spilled everywhere, and she didn’t apologize……… Also, they have the card machine but they don’t let me pay by credit card.

Definitely my favourite dim sum place in the city. Try to get there just before 10, as it's gets damn busy right after that (plus their full menu opens up soon thereafter if you time it right). All the staples of dim sum are there - sticky rice, har gow, pork siu mai, to name a few - and the prices are totally reasonably. Come hungry with a good group and leave almost painfully full, but completely satisfied

This is really good restaurant with tasty food. It is good for dim sum/yam cha and dinner.

We have driven by Dai Tung for many, many years but only recently went in for the first time (for a late lunch). We were quite impressed by the interior. It's clean, bright and looked more modern than we had expected. The service was okay and the food (dim sum) was good. It is your typical Chinese eatery for dim sum. We noticed almost every table had "chicken with rice", so we ordered it as well (limited one order per table at $2.50). It was very delicious. Will certainly add Dai Tung to our list of places to go in Vancouver.

I had gone here before a couple years earlier and the line-up was out the door and about 45 minutes on average. Every time was like that until my most recent visit. No line, which was a bit of surprise for my companion and myself, but not a big deal as we were happy to be seated immediately. Ordered the traditional dimsum dishes - shrimp dumplings, rice crepes, etc.. To my surprise, the food was very bland and not what I had remembered from years prior, I wasn't entirely disappointed, but none the less I wasn't impressed either. Seafood was still fairly fresh though which was a positive. Not sure if it was just a one time thing or what, but hoping things get back to the way they were previously.

Delicious food with fast and great service!!! Authentic Cantonese style dim sum place with a good price! The only one downside is that they accept cash only for lunch (maybe this is how they keep the price low)! Compared to other two dim sum places I have tried nearby, this is the best one so far! 港式點心 + 粵式中餐 美味而又價格適中

Just heard they're closing due to the redevelopment as I ordered my final salt baked chicken. Many many family meals over the last 20years, always top quality dishes. Will be sorely missed!

I was introduced to this decades old establishment by my good friends who have been patrons since the 80s. Good selections on the menu. We opted for the pre-set menu, order 4 entrees which includes a complimentary crab cooked to your choice for $138. If you love seafood or crab wanting value, this is a no brainer. There were 4 of us & there were no leftovers. The restaurant’s specialty is salted chicken with their secret dipping sauce (which I found to be a bit on the sweet side) and ginger and onion oil. The other dishes were the salt and peppery shrimp (a definite must order as the shrimp were jumbo and decent quantity), halibut hot pot, and beef gai lan. They currently offer a $4.98 special for their salty chicken which has several pieces of their specialty chicken with rice. We ordered a couple of those to go which was great for lunch. We noticed that other nearby diners opted in for the combo special. That night, all 4 of us found the food to be a bit on the salty side and greasy. The combo special also included a complimentary portion of mango pudding which was a treat from the standard sweet red bean dessert soup you find in 99% of Asian restaurants. Service was prompt. There’s limited complimentary parking out front located in a small plaza. Otherwise, parking’s available on the street. The restaurant was clean and had nice décor. Great for a special occasions. The next time I visit, I’ll have to get the chef to lightened up on the salt.
