It is a closed in community, allowing for safety, however... drivers need to watch for cycling children

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of the area it's located and the fact the units are decent in size. In addition they can be fairly accommodating financially depending of course on the need. I have a 2 bedroom, with all utilities and rent it's about 1100-1200$ per month. All in all not bad. On to the ugly. I had an issue which went against the bylaw for the co-op. I went to the "landlord" was told to handle it myself. I told them what I was thinking of doing & at no point did someone say "oh no you can't do that". Fast forward through months of dealing with said problem. With board members aware of the situation. No one did anything still. So I wrote a note stating that the car needed to be removed from my marked spot or it may get towed in accordance with the co-ops bylaw. Over 24hrs later the car was finally moved. It had already been there for over a day. To be clear, I wouldn't have called a tow truck I wouldve requested the board members to do so or to do something. Nonetheless they sent 2 board members to reprimand me for my actions & they said nothing but "next time tell us what's going on" after i'd informed them I had already contacted a board member and complained numerous times about this issue. All I was ever told was to "knock on everyone's door and find out whose it is", "leave a note on the car", "get the license plate number". I got promises of the parking bylaw to be reissued to everyone so they're aware marked spots are for that unit only. Which was never done. Don't even get me started on the fact my upstairs floor is about ready to give out beneath me one day but each place has their own negatives. These have been mine. Its a shame there isn't more affordable housing that's isn't deplorable. Till then you can find me at 470 bunting drive. Unit #everyoneparksinmyspot

Garbage and recycling is overflowing and spilling onto the road and this is the first thing that you see when you enter Crossroads. Units are like sardines and are much too close together. Fences need repairs.

A great place to call home. A housing co-operative is exactly what it sounds like, a co-operative community which lies somewhere between traditional renting and home ownership. Crossroads is a quiet complex hidden between natural forest/wetland and Booth Road close to highway access and local amenities. I have lived here for the better part of 10 years and can tell you that you won't find more value for your dollar in North Bay. The community is autonomous and self-governed, so if you don't like the way something is being run, you can change it. The 50 units are a split between Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) and market rent (which is still affordable because there is no landlord making a profit off of your rent). In my decade of living there I have many great things to say, vs. few negative things - but the most important thing to note is that I was always able to change those negative things with the help of neighbours and the elected board of directors. If you looking for 2, 3 or 4 bedroom townhouse, or a 2-3 bedroom accessible unit, give Crossroads a call, get your application in, and hopefully you will get a call soon.
