About CrossFit Iron Society

Our Vision

At CrossFit Iron Society, we believe community is built when you sweat together. That's what CrossFit Iron Society co-owners Darryn Larkin-Terzo (CFL1), Leya Moore (CFL2),Claudia Samayoa (CFL2) and Steve Seiferling (CFL2) fell in love with when we first started CrossFit so many years ago. And, it's what brought us together first as friends, and later as business partners to open CrossFit Iron Society five years.

We know what has helped us to succeed in our fitness goals - and that has been putting in hard work while having fun training with friends. It's not a tag line. For us, it’s always been about our fellow athletes and coaches we have surrounded ourselves with, and our attitude.  Our goal is to create a gym based on just that.

We know CrossFit has the ability to change lives. That's why it's important to us that we keep our overhead low so we are accessible to everyday people- all while providing our members with high-quality coaching and programming, a wide variety of high-end equipment, and a close-knit and supportive community.  It is also important to us that we are convenient for our members with 24-hour access, and family-friendly with a kids' room.

At CrossFit Iron Society, you have everything you need to reach your fitness goals - and we hope you will have a lot of fun while achieving them with us.

OUR COACHES

CrossFit Iron Society's owners and coaches are all long-time CrossFit athletes and experienced coaches. Our team of coaches includes Anne-Marie Young (CFL1), Nikki Williams (CFL2) Hormoz Shoghi (CFL1), Jessica Nieckarz (CFL1), Addie Weber (CFL1), Wade Bjerland (CFL1), Jocelyn Mish (CFL1), Dave Samayoa (CFL2), Kelly Davidson (CFL1), Brett Seguin (CFL1) and Sabrina Markewich (CFL1).

CrossFit AFfiliate Programming

We are proud to continue our partnership with CrossFit legends Austin Malleolo, Spencer Hendel and James Hobart. We began our gym using their HAM Plan programming from the very beginning, and continue with them as they have moved to developing CrossFit Affiliate programming for CrossFit.com. It is fun to follow, and provides programming for every athlete - from beginners to competitive athletes.

 “What’s most important is that the workout of the day, at its core, remains the same for everyone.”

Austin, James and Spencer have been programming for athletes of all levels for well over a decade.  The programming designs workouts that are safe and effective for everyone, from grandpas to World CrossFit Games athletes (and even for grandpas who are CrossFit Games athletes).  Athletes who want more volume or skill work have that option built into the program.  They also give clear direction on how to scale workouts up our down to meet specific training goals and needs.

What’s most important is that the workout of the day, at its core, remains the same for everyone.  Community is what CrossFit has always been about, and community is built when people sweat together. It’s a big part of why it’s so effective.

The CAP Program includes:

  • The warm up, workout of the day and cool down, along with optional extra credit skill work three to four times per week;

  • The an at-home option with low to no equipment.

  • Additional competitive programming for those who want to focus more on skill development, strength or add more volume.

Excellent coaching, cozy gym and great community! I visited CF Iron Society during my summer vacation to Regina. I was easily able to access the coaching staff and register for classes on line. The space is on the smaller side but has more equipment than most much larger gyms. The coaching and instruction is excellent and the regular members were very welcoming and accommodating to me. I would highly recommend this gym if you are looking to join a gym in Regina or if you are from out of town and want to get a few workouts in while you are here. Class stated promptly at the top of the hour and ended on time as well. The programming was fantastic and 4 levels of scale were listed for athletes of every type. They also offered ROM WOD after class as part of the cool down portion of class. I was really impressed with the facility and the available equipment. My email questions about the gym and classes were answered promptly and I was able to register for class on line very easily. I have really enjoyed my time at CrossFit Iron Society and will definitely be back next time I am in town. Thanks for letting me be part of your group! It's been fun!

I am just starting here after a decade or more long hiatus from the gym. Good, welcoming team atmosphere and I’m having fun even though I’m currently in some of the worst shape of my life. There is a coach that shows and tells us what to do which is great because I don’t have a good history of sticking to things like this purely on my own. Come on out!

As a guest in Regina, attending Iron Society was a genuine pleasure. The workouts are challenging core movements. The unique 'levels' approach felt more like selecting a tailored workout rather than a scaled one. The rig setup along the walls with an open center made moving through the WOD feel very organized.
