★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Proof that you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. A few years ago, the condo board invested heavily in a pretty facade of the complex.
It looks particularly nice with the mattresses and sofas lying on the ground around it, and the balcony holding *found* (in alleys and back yards) objects of the local hoarder.
The board imposes warnings on those they are not friendly with, and let infractions pass for the anointed ones. The parking lot fund does seem to have disappeared. It was still there a few years back, I heard. As an owner, I would have called for an audit, but I stopped caring years ago. I will wait for the special assessment, then let the bank have my condo and the nightmare.
If you need a place to live and aren't planning on living in a friendly community, this is a good bet. Frankly, security is so bad that homeless people live in the building undetected for weeks, and do laundry while everyone is sleeping, so don't even bother renting, just move in.
One star, only because the grass is pretty in the late spring before it dies from neglect.
