The staff here is very friendly and compassionate. We just got a new puppy recently and they welcomed him with open arms. They also gave us advice (first time pet for us) and literature to help us along the way. He had an umbilical hernia repaired and he got neutered at the same time. The following day the clinic followed up to see how the patient was doing, and he was doing extremely well. Dr. Rasmussen and staff have truly found their calling.

The team at Central Valley Vet is wonderful. From the first phone call, to the exam, and following-up afterwards, everyone has taken the time to answer all of my questions and ensure that I have all of the information and resources to provide the best care for my cat. Their concern for her wellbeing is evident and genuine, and I'm happy she has such a great team looking out for her. Thank you to everyone at Central Valley Vet!

We have been using Central Valley for years for veterinary needs for cats and our dog. We have always been met with helpful staff and a welcoming atmosphere in clinic and on the phone....until today. I called this morning because our dog has had direct contact with bordatella and has now been showing symptoms for 3 days. I called to inquire whether he needed a course of antibiotics. The person who answered my call did not listen to the presenting complaint and offered us an appointment in 3 weeks. I felt like I was talking to a recorded machine (I assure you I was not). When I expressed that the dog was sick TODAY she recommended I call Fairfield Animal Hospital if I wanted to be seen same day. I called for reassurance and advise, which we have always gotten from other staff at the clinic. Disappointed.

Brought my mini dachshund pup here for her spay with Dr Chris. Very disappointed as our pup had her incision open up 48 hours later and had to get very expensive emergency surgery at Fairfield. We never got to speak to the vet, were given the incorrect size cone, didn’t receive a receipt or follow up call, and they didn’t send our records over to our regular vet in a timely manner.

Dr. Bigger has been our family vet for awhile now and he has been absolutely wonderful! Both of our boys love seeing him. Additionally, the staff in the office is wonderful to work with. I’m sure it isn’t easy for anyone working at CV to deal with distressed owners on a daily basis - especially in a prolonged pandemic - but they have never failed us. I am so happy we found this wonderful and compassionately run clinic for our boys. Over the years, we have always been treated with kindness and respect by all the members of this outstanding team! Thank you all so much!

(Written on behalf of family member) Had a scheduled appointment with Central Valley Vet Hospital to get their new puppy's second round of vaccinations and the parking lot was completely full so they had to park down the road (causing them to be 5 minutes late). Once met at the door, being there 5 minutes after the scheduled time, was rejected at the door and asked to reschedule an appointment, when they had to find child care for their autistic child to come for their appointment. The only reason they were late was because of their parking lot having insufficient space. When met at the door the staff were very rude and completely disrespectful. Will not recommend this place nor be coming back in the future.

I took my 12 week old Border Collie/Heeler mix puppy to Central Valley Veterinarian Hospital for her second dose of shots and a check up. It was mine and my puppy’s first time going to see any veterinarian since I got her roughly one month ago. The over all experiences was extremely negative for me and my puppy. The Veterinarian didn’t make an effort to greet my dog and try to make her feel comfortable with her before she started the examination. Once she started the examination my puppy was instantly tense (which is expected), but the Veterinarian was being unnecessarily rough with her to the point it was causing her physical pain. She was aggressively jabbing the ear examination tool into my puppy’s ears, and my puppy was yelping in pain trying to get away. I have NEVER seen my puppy act like this, and I have been training her to feel comfortable with me touching her ears, eyes and everywhere else and it has been going very smoothly. At no point during the ENTIRE examination did the veterinarian try to comfort my puppy, the veterinarian just seemed to become more and more frustrated with the situation. There wasn’t a veterinarian assistant in the room with us either, so the Veterinarian asked me to “restrain” my puppy so she could examine her ears and eyes. The Veterinarian quickly became frustrated again with me when I wasn’t “restraining” my dog correctly, and began saying comments about how I need to learn to restrain my puppy properly or else this is going to be a major problem. Which, if you ask me… restraining my puppy to the point of them yelping in pain isn’t something I feel comfortable with, nor would I ever want to put her through again. The Veterinarian seemed easily agitated and frustrated. ***I understand that a certain amount of restraint is sometimes necessary if your puppy isn’t cooperating, but I felt that this was a little over the top… More than anything the thing that really made this whole experience extremely negative was the veterinarian’s attitude. Had the veterinarian been more gentle, understanding and compassionate towards me and my puppy the whole process would have gone a lot smoother. But, instead she was rough, agitated and demanding, and this really made me feel uncomfortable. I felt my visit was incredibly rushed. I didn’t get a chance to ask the questions I wanted to ask, and when the veterinarian prescribed her eye drops she didn’t even go over when I should start them, or how often I needed to be using them, which is something I would expect them to go over with me. I would also like to say that I was quoted $150 for my visit and ended up leaving with a bill close to $250, and as a person on a budget it is important that I am informed on a quote as close as possible to the actually cost. The general vibe that I got from the woman veterinarian was that she was burnt out, not enjoying her job and not liking animals. Even the front staff seemed unfriendly and cold towards me and my puppy. I honestly felt like I was burdening them with my visit. I will not be taking my dog back there, and I will not recommend this Veterinarian Clinic to anyone. I really hope that this experience didn’t traumatize my puppy to the point where she is always going to feel stressed out at any veterinarian clinics…

Excellent customer service from the first phone call. Welcoming and very efficient staff. Dr. Kim was efficient , thorough and very caring. My cat's blood test results came back so quickly and tho the diagnosis was grave the information she gave me made the hard decisions more informed and a bit better for me. thank you all for the heart felt service .
