★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I often shop at castle liquor store but during the pandemic I’ve had two uncomfortable in counters with the staff. The first time I requested the employee to not touch my ID card and then was mocked for my concern when she handed me my change and said, “you know I’ve touched this right?” , while I was only trying to create the least amount of contact with her as I could. The second interaction I was requested to remove my face mask after giving to valid pieces of government ID.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunately the cranky, middle-aged woman working there was very rude to my partner and I (who are both in our early 30s btw). She requested TWO pieces of photo ID from BOTH of us, and refused to sell to us when we couldn’t provide the same. Great selection in the store, too bad they lost our business two days in a row. As tourists to Sooke, it was extremely disappointing.
